£1 donation day - help the fight for British wildlife!

It’s the 1st of November, which means it’s our £1 Donation Day!
These days are crucial for keeping Protect the Wild moving forward. We don’t take corporate funding or rely on large grants; everything we do is powered by small, individual contributions from our amazing supporters. Every single pound genuinely helps keep the fight for British wildlife alive and the wheels turning.

Just last month we:

• Visited Oxford University to protest Professor Sir Charles Godfray’s role in giving credibility to the Government’s continuation of the Badger cull. To his credit he invited us in for a conversation and you can read our thoughts on what went down here.

• Went to Parliament to watch the debate over the future of the Badger cull and as our write up headline shows (Badger cull dismantled from all sides in landmark Parliament debate) it was a pretty successful day!

• We raised almost £9,000 to purchase a state of the art thermal drone for the brilliant CABS (Committee Against Bird Slaughter)

• We rallied behind the campaign to #FreeThe15 Gentoo Penguins from SeaLife London and supported Freedom For Animal’s protest at the venue

• Began work on our huge new research project to investigate the relationship between taxpayer funded bodies and the pest control industry

• Released our latest animation narrated by Chris Packham uncovering the mistreatment of hunting hounds (already viewed over 700k times at the time of writing this)

  

  All of this comes alongside more than 13 million views of our content across social media in the past month, and an incredible 4,623 new people joining us here on Substack too!

These fundraising drives show just how powerful our community can be when everyone gives what they can. In October, the kindness of Protect the Wild supporters helped raise more than £3,100 from a single email, showing how quickly small donations can create a big impact.
