A Decade of Action: Protect the Wild Turns 10!
Today marks a milestone.
Exactly ten years ago, I created what was then just a simple Facebook page called Keep the Ban, from my bedroom.
A decade on, as I write this email, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude. That bedroom project has grown into Protect the Wild — a fully-fledged non-profit organisation standing up for all British wildlife. I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come and what we’ve achieved together along the way.
In many ways, I’ve realised the vision that first sparked this journey. I set out to confront those who inflict cruelty and suffering on wild animals. I dreamed of building a movement of compassionate, like-minded people bound by shared values. I wanted to bring together a committed, fearless team dedicated to protecting the wild.
And thanks to your incredible support, that vision has become a reality.
It’s impossible to sum up everything we’ve done over the past ten years but here are just a few of the moments that stand out:
Helped pressure major landowners such as the National Trust, Forestry England and the MoD to ban 'trail' hunts on their land
Played a major role in shaping the national conversation around hunting - amassing over 1 million followers across our social media channels and educating tens of millions of people about the realities taking place across the British countryside
Built one of the most subscribed and active Substacks in the UK - 1 million+ monthly views of our articles and opinion pieces
Seen coverage of our work across all major media outlets including BBC and prime time ITV
Conducted several hard-hitting undercover investigations such as the groundbreaking Beaufort hunt hound shooting
Released annual hunting reports, launched multiple sites such as hunthavoc.info and bloodbusiness.info to expose and put pressure on hunts and shoots like never before
Produced dozens of powerful animated films seen in the tens of millions
Amassed over half a million signatures for stronger anti-hunting legislation which has proved instrumental in shaping Govt policy
Organised and co-hosted several protests and demonstrations for wildlife including the largest single demo of the 2017 General election period
None of this would be possible without your support. It’s thanks to people like you — standing firmly in our corner — that we’ve been able to build such a powerful voice for British wildlife.
And that voice is only growing louder with every passing day. Ten years might have passed, but believe me when I say: this is just the beginning for Protect the Wild.
I’m 26 years old, and I have no intention of slowing down — not now, not ever. We’re only going to fight harder, push further, and speak louder. And trust me, we have huge plans for the future.
I will not rest until every form of abuse, suffering, killing, and mistreatment of British wildlife is brought to an end. Whether it’s the cowards on horseback chasing foxes. The gunmen who see birds as little more than moving targets. Or the Government, the royals, and anyone else who turns a blind eye while wild animals are harmed or left to suffer.
We will stand against them all. We will challenge anyone and everyone who enables cruelty. And we will always take the fight to those who hurt British wildlife.
Thank you — truly — for everything you’ve done to support Protect the Wild. From standing with us at protests and buying hand-made keyrings and car stickers back in 2020, to donating a few pounds when you can, or simply sharing our campaigns with others.
Every single action has mattered. Every one of you has helped build this movement. Together, you’ve made Protect the Wild a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
On behalf of British wildlife, you have my word: I will dedicate the rest of my life to this cause. And I will fight for animals for as long as I’m still breathing.
Onwards and upwards!
Rob
Want to say happy birthday to us? Well we've got 150 limited edition pin badges to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! A perfect way to give us a little bit of support :)

Rob, you are a Legend !! Thankyou so much from all the Wildlife x
Wishing you many happy returns of this birthday!
The list of achievements is impressive.
If the Royals renounced their slaughter of wildlife & announced their intention to protect it, that would have an impact on the aristos who think killing is jolly good sport.
Ever thought of getting up a petition aimed at the Princess of Wales? I heard that she doesn't want her children involved in blood 'sports'. It may be only rumour, but worth a try?
