A new camera for Cheshire Indies!

Hunt saboteurs and hunt monitors are heroes, you don’t need me to tell you that. They put themselves on the line to protect wildlife from those intent on destroying it and it’s why at Protect the Wild we will always be committed to supporting those in the field. And 2025 will be no different. Thanks to all those who chip in to our equipment fund we kicked off the new year with a £500 donation to the wonderful Cheshire Independent Monitors (Cheshire Indies) who have been out on the ground for the best part of 8 years.

Here’s what they had to say :)

First of all we'd like to massively thank Protect the Wild and their subscriber's for their very generous donation for a new Camcorder to replace one of our old ones which was damaged whilst sabbing a Hunt recently.

The damaged Cam is now a Police matter and we'll update when we can!

We are a small group of anti hunt activists who have been actively out in the fields stopping Hunts in Cheshire for 8 yrs.

We are also Anti Cull and are involved in helping to save Badgers since the Cull started here in Cheshire back in 2017.

We are out every week from Cubbing season right through to the end of Hunting season.

This new Cam we have purchased with the donation will be used every week out in the fields and will be a huge help in the fight to end Fox hunting.

Video Cams are a vital illegal hunting gathering evidence tool that every Anti needs when out.

In 2024 alone we provided groups with over £13,000 worth of funding - that money came from supporters who entrusted us to spend their money with the due diligence it deserves.

Sabbing and monitoring - protecting wildlife from the people who want to harm animals - can be dangerous and exhausting. But we, us, you, the groups we support are making a genuine difference, out in the field where it is needed. Hunts are losing support and being watched like never before. So, thank you to the groups out on the front line - and thank you to every single one of you who are supporting them.
