A very honest email about where we want to take Protect the Wild

We are building something big, something different. An organisation that calls out cruelty wherever it hides, from the hunters and shooters with blood on their hands to the politicians and other organisations who look the other way.

We’re proud to be an organisation that doesn’t water down its message, doesn’t sell out certain species for convenience and doesn’t rely on big donors, government grants or staying neutral and passive to keep the donations coming in.

We are Protect the Wild.

And we are proud to be powered by the people.

As I write this I am proud to say we have 6,479 compassionate people giving a monthly donation to power this fight.

That’s 6,479 people giving a few quid a month to build what is becoming the loudest, most fearless voice for wildlife in Britain.

They are the reason we can launch undercover investigations.

The reason we can produce animations, reports, campaigns, and videos.

The reason we’ve built a team of a dozen dedicated activists working day and night to expose cruelty and fight for change.

These supporters are the backbone of everything we do.

But we don’t want to stand still. We have high ambitions, not just to grow for the sake of growing but because we know that we’re on the right side of history. We know that we are one of the only unapologetically outspoken organisations saying it how it is.

And the truth is very simple. This Government has been inept, backtracking on promises and failing animals. Major NGOs with literally millions rolling in are sitting by and doing very little as nature and wildlife continues to be decimated on an industrial scale.

You’ve got major charities claiming to be for the protection of birds sitting on the fence when it comes to challenging the bird shooting industry. You’ve got govt orgs sanctioning the slaughter of animals left right and centre.

Everyone at Protect the Wild is sick of it. We have an opportunity to grow this movement into the loudest voice for wildlife in Britain, to influence policy and change through sheer numbers and pressure. Because frankly we can’t afford to do the inside game and play politics.

There needs to be a mass movement of people calling out injustice, calling out the ways in which British wildlife is suffering, uncensored, unfiltered and speaking truth to power whether they like it or not.

We’re not here to sit on the fence or put out wishy washy content online. We’re here to be heard and to be seen for the sake of the animals that are so often ignored.

So are you with us? We’re being transparent about where we stand and the future we want to create. Our goal is simple, to reach 10,000 monthly supporters as soon as possible.

Why? Because this will help us be louder, bolder and stronger for British wildlife.

10,000 monthly supporters means year-round equipment and mental health support for animal activists and those physically stopping animal cruelty on the ground.

10,000 monthly supporters means year-round undercover investigations into the persecution of wildlife and exposing those who take enjoyment or profit from the suffering of animals.

10,000 monthly supporters means we can literally double our production of animations that are proving so successful in getting these issues seen by millions upon millions of people.

10,000 monthly supporters means we can ramp up our campaign to end bird shooting and bring in dedicated team members to work solely on campaigning against and dismantling an industry causing the deaths of millions of animals every single year.

10,000 monthly supporters means those in power will have to take us seriously, a powerful unfiltered voice for British wildlife.

Support us for just a couple of pounds a month.
We know times are tough, and we’ll never ask for anything unreasonable. But if thousands of people each chip in £2 or £3, it quickly adds up — and it’s the kind of monthly amount you’ll barely notice going out.
