Totally agree Sharon. It’s about time the government kept its manifesto promises. People who enjoy seeing animals torn apart by dogs or shot whilst running or birds out of the sky
are the dangerous psychopaths, the lowest of the low excuse for a human being.
I do not "get it" any enjoyment in killing "natures creatures", when I was 14 years old, 71 years ago, I was the owner of a 4/10 shotgun, my first "shot" killed a bird in the sky, as it floated down, I was "shocked" and "disgusted" at what I had done, it brought tears to my eyes, that gun was never used again, it was handed in to Walthamsrow, police station to be destroyed, at 14 years of age, I knew I had done "wrong", it sticks with me to this day, I hate any "cruelty" "abuse" of any animal, "wildlife" "birds" and "animals for food" ( " hate that saying" ), all "worlds" animals" should be treated with respect, it makes me feel "sorry" "angry" and "hateful", I feel "SHAME" for some members of our "HUMAN SPECIES", good luck "PROTECT THE WILD".
Expose the likes of Ian Botham (take away his knighthood) who owns massive bird shooting land. Listen to him when questioned about it and you’ve never heard someone get so defensive. Used to be a hero now he’s gutter
Can't come too soon. Quite aside from the obvious animal abuse/torture viewpoint, it makes no sense to spend £thousands rearing these poor little souls only to release them and shoot them immediately. Some are 'lucky' and die outright while most are injured and have their necks wrung after some hours. And after all of that, they are not even edible as the shot contaminates any of the meat.
All round it's a totally despicable practice - involving inordinate amounts of money which couldd actually do some good and justify the existence of the shooters.
