Hull Wildlife Protectors Complete National Three Peaks Challenge – With One Minute to Spare
From sanctuary to summit: to help raise funds for wildlife rescues in Hull.
Hull Wildlife Protectors spend much of their time monitoring their local hunt, the Holderness Hunt, for wildlife crime - but when they’re not in the field, they turn their energy to raising vital funds for local rehabbers. You may remember our earlier article, when we shared that Hull Wildlife Protectors were taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in aid of two Yorkshire wildlife rehabbers who never rest and never stop: The Wildlife Alliance and Ren’s Wildlife Hospital.
Well, this weekend, they did it. With just one minute to spare, the team completed the gruelling challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in under 24 hours.
The journey wasn’t without setbacks. Two members of the team were injured partway through and, heartbreakingly, couldn’t reach the final peak. But three others pressed on, exhausted, cold, and aching, and made it to the top of Snowdon, crossing the finish line with a single minute left on the clock.
HWP have reached £4,400 of their £5,000 target, so that both rescues can continue their vital work. Every penny will help provide the care, medicine, and equipment needed for the countless animals who come through Jenny and Pamela’s doors. These two women are true heroes of wildlife rescue, under-recognised for what they do, but absolutely indispensable and awe-inspiring. Without them, countless animals in Hull and the surrounding areas would have nowhere to turn.
Reflecting on the challenge, Hull Wildlife Protectors said:
“It was tough, but worth every step. We climbed three mountains, each one exhausting, each one pushing us to our physical and mental limits. But Jenny and Pamela, through The Wildlife Alliance and Ren’s Wildlife Hospital, climb mountains every single day, without rest or a day off, to care for the wild creatures who share our island. We walked for them, and now we ask you to stand with us. Help us reach our target, so together we can give these heroes the support they deserve.”
The fundraiser runs until the end of August, and the team is urging supporters to come together in these final days to help them reach their target. This is a chance to give back to those who give everything for wildlife, often with little recognition, but always with love and dedication.

Thankyou to everyone involved. Your truly making a difference ♡
Great effort HWP. Sabs are super strong, can’t see any of those limp hunt folk doing the 3 peaks ! 🦊
