I couldn’t take the bad news anymore — so I did this..
I’ve come up with something new — not a side project, but a small, daily reminder that we are making progress.
Like many of you I’m sure, I’ve been feeling the weight of it all recently. The state of the world is overwhelming. And when your work revolves around fighting for animals and nature, it can feel like the bad news never stops.
At Protect the Wild, we face that reality every day. And while I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else — because this work matters so deeply — I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t tough to stay hopeful sometimes.
That’s why I’ve come up with something new — not a side project, but a small, daily reminder that we are making progress.
I’ve started a new social media account: @robsgoodnews
It’s a space where I’ll be sharing short, uplifting stories about wins for animals from here in Britain and around the world.
Not because the fight is over. Not because I’m stepping back. But because it’s important we remember what we’re fighting for, not just what we’re fighting against.
The aim is simple:
To offer a breath of fresh air and hope, grounded in real change
To introduce new people to Protect the Wild’s work through positive, accessible stories
And to support our vital working protecting British wildlife — all ad revenue from this content will help fund our campaigns
I’ll still be doing all my usual work at Protect the Wild, nothing changes there.
This is just a new way to reach people who might not otherwise see what we do. And honestly, it’s a way to stay grounded myself. A little light in the gloom.
