Thanks for the thorough analysis - Tory papers skewing the case as ever. But as well as objecting to that, shouldn't wildlife groups be publicising this consultation so that all wildlife supporters dismayed by the P&I Bill can flood the government with comments urging them to actually adopt the (good) proposal on swift bricks that has commendably been included in the document?
Yes Tory papers will always skew against a left leaning issue, such as the environment or nature, but isn't it just on par for this so-called labour government to u-turn on pretty much everything they said to get into power?
I myself have been in touch with my local swift group some months back to discuss a possible site for a nest box for swifts and bats - they co-exist quite comfortably - because I personally think that the brick boxes will be difficult to keep clean and may become hazardous to public health having it set permanently inside the cavity wall.
However, it may work better for some houses, who knows... which is why expert consultation is vital.
LEFT WING OR RIGHT WING, THESE POLITICIANS DO NOT CARE ABOUT WILDLIFE OR THE CLIMATE, THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN THEIR GOAL OF IMPLEMENTING THEIR POLICIES, AND BEING UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE BIG BUSINESSES.
HAVE SENT ARTICLE TO MY MP AND ASKED HER WILL SHE SPEAK IN PARLIAMENT ABOUT PROTECTING WILDLIFE AND THEIR HABITATS, I AM STILL AWAITING FOR REPLIES TO OTHER ARTICLES THAT I HAVE SENT. SHE IS A LABOUR MP AND SO CALLED ANIMAL LOVER. ALSO SENT ARTICLE TO ANIMAL AID AND WILDLIFE TRUSTS, IN THE HOPE OF GETTING OTHER GROUPS TO SPEAK UP ABOUT THE DIRE SITUATION OF ALL WILDLIFE AND THEIR HABITATS.
DAVID, it feels like banging our heads against a brick wall, I find it hard to get in touch with "MPs",they seem to have ways to make it impossible to get in touch with them, but I also try to spread the word, about, the protection of wildlife, even on xmas cards I send, we just have to keep trying, good luck
It's not just the "swift's", that have disappeared from where I live in "NORFOLK", I have farmland around my bungalow and have not seen "skylarks" for a few years, hardly any of the "tit" family and other birds(cannot remember names)the decline is worrying, yes, we have the bird flu, but some "EU" countries, net them and shoot them out the skies, they are "gormless morons", again it's those useless "humans" again.

I AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT MY LOCAL LIBARY HAS SEVERAL SWIFT BOXES. IT'S SOME HELP, BUT MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE.
