The government cannot be serious. They have to listen to what citizens are unhappy with.

Well done rob for standing up to this government.

Fully agree with the above, plus, they want to keep hold of the pharma companies we have, or Trump will succeed in wooing them over to a state that has not banned animal testing yet. Having been in a primate research centre, I can assure you, the management are so-oo- keen to present an extremely caring attitude towards these poor wretches...for PROFIT.

I believe that we can blow the whole thing up if we keep on presenting the scientific alternatives, and their proven efficacy.

They will not listen as with climate change the scientific evidence has been ignored

Maybe as they get taxes from workers inside animal experiment units, they don't want to lose more money as the chancellor as taxed workers and businesses to the hilt while work shy get more in benefits

I could of course take the usual route of attack and blame the previous government for ignoring the will of the people. But that would simply let the current 'government' off the hook. It isn't the predictable blind response to animal research that we are used to that angers me intensely.

It's the fact that it is the long waited for Labour Government that is continuing to attack the very basis of what we have always understood to be our inalienable rights to protest, demonstrate and speak with our elected representatives in Parliament on any given subject.

Now it seems, this 'Labour' administration is removing those rights one by one. The right to think and protest against human tyranny against other humans. In this most recent and brutal of all cases, the internationally declared genocide and war crimes of Israel against unarmed and innocent civilians, theft of property by illegal settlers, and the control of the media in not only manipulating the truth, but murdering international reporters who were too close to the truth.

There is no doubt that if these appalling crimes were committed in Ukraine by Russian forces the world would have seen the footage second by second, minute by minute. But because these war crimes were committed by Israeli Zionist extremists, based on Old Testament scripture, the western world, particularly the US, would prefer to cover it all up. PM Keir Starmer finds it impossible to tell the United States that they are wrong and must respect the opinions of others.

So he declares anyone protesting on behalf of Palestine is sympathetic with terrorists and has had several thousands arrested, hundreds awaiting trials in the already overcrowded criminal courts. He has deliberately removed a judge from office and replaced him with a panel of three who will do his bidding.

Now he is set to deny citizens the right to protest against animal research labs torturing animals to death. I won't be lost on everyone here that the majority of these establishments will be American. We are now at a crossroads in the UK and in danger of sleepwalking towards losing all right to protest.
