This week our animation ‘The Forgotten Foxhounds’ was released to the public! WATCH BELOW!
Just like you we want to ensure as many people see this animation as possible. We want to expose the reality behind fox hunting, that foxhounds are shot dead when deemed unneeded or not up to standard.
So if you can forward this email to a friend or family member please do! Let’s spread the word! And of course you can find the animation on our social media channels and share from there too.
This is just the beginning
We’re just three years old as an organisation and we’re dedicated to doing all we can to empower people to protect British wildlife. This animation was seen by almost 2 million people this week, that’s a ridiculous number of people exposed to the dark truths behind fox hunting. And slowly but surely we are killing off this sick pastime so it has no place in the 21st century.
Work like this is only possible thanks to your incredible support. So if you’re behind what we stand for and how we bring issues into the spotlight, please consider a small regular donation towards our vital work.
Our reasons behind the animation
Throughout the past few months, our dedicated animator, Ben, has poured his efforts into ‘The Forgotten Foxhounds’ — a project that simply cannot be overlooked.
Following our eye-opening undercover investigation alongside the Hunt Investigation Team, which revealed the Duke of Beaufort Hunt's appalling act of shooting their hounds dead, we've been contemplating ways to raise awareness about this distressing practice.
Initially, we encountered significant hurdles battling against social media algorithms. The graphic nature of the footage led Facebook and Twitter to severely restrict the reach of the original content showcasing the hound shootings.
This is where our animation, titled 'The Forgotten Foxhounds,' steps in. Now, we have a significant opportunity to present these scenes to a much larger audience and shed light on how hunts mistreat their hounds when they believe they're unobserved.
Our poignant 90-second animation sheds light on the tragic fate of a foxhound named 'Scamp,' revealing the distressing reality of hound abuse by hunts across the UK.
The animation, based on the true story of 'Scamp' witnessed by undercover investigators, illustrates the heart-wrenching incident where Scamp was fatally shot by the Beaufort Hunt. His only crime? Merely displaying an eagerness to play and no longer being deemed useful by the hunt.
Our aim with 'The Forgotten Foxhounds' is to expose the disturbingly common practice of hound abuse and killing by hunts throughout the UK. This isn't an isolated incident; it's a pervasive issue that demands public attention.
In response to the challenges faced in disseminating graphic footage from an undercover investigation with the Hunt Investigation Team due to social media restrictions, we embarked on creating this animation. It serves as a palatable yet impactful medium to unveil the harsh reality of hound mistreatment, featuring narration by renowned personalities such as Sam Carter, Chris Packham, Megan McCubbin, Dr Amir Khan, Peter Egan and many more.
However, the purpose of this animation extends beyond raising awareness. We’re advocating for the implementation of the 'Hunting of Mammals Bill,' a legislative proposal designed to close existing loopholes and enact a comprehensive ban on hunting practices. This critical legislation, shaped by years of campaigning against hunting, aims to ensure the safeguarding of wildlife.
By supporting our 'Hunting of Mammals Bill' and endorsing our petition for a new, robust ban on hunting, the public can contribute to our collective effort to end fox hunting for good. We believe that while foxes suffer in hunts, the plight of hounds often remains untold, highlighting the broader impact of this issue.
We urge you to join the movement and sign the petition for a proper ban on all hunting with hounds.
Although the animation is cartoon, it’s hard-hitting and heartbreaking. It somehow makes the reality of the whole wretched business of hunting immediate and every bit as disgusting as it is. 😿😿😿
Brakes my hart every time I watch one of these videos 😭😭😭😡😡🤬🤬
