Get it over the line Rob ! An heroic commitment and achievement.

It has restored some of my faith in the Labor party as well.... 'John Prescott' you may not remember but would be proud of you as we all are. ! Bless him and his descent principles.

Happy Xmas

Rob

100% agree with you!! Well said Rob and thank you so, so much for everything you and Protect the Wild are doing 👍✊👏❤️💖💖!! This announcement from the government is very welcome and very long overdue!! It could go further (as you correctly said Rob, there is no need to shoot innocent hares at ALL) but it is progress going in the right direction, which is more than I can say for the conservatives time in parliament. I sincerely hope that we will see a true end to hunting animals with dogs and snares very soon. Barbaric "trophy hunting imports" is missing though? However, we need to keep up the momentum until this is definitely done and over the line for good as the sick hunts and their supporters are of course crying "crocodile tears" at this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g9y20j259o and (warning, some upsetting details regarding killing lobsters): https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/dec/22/boiling-lobsters-alive-banned-animal-cruelty-crackdown

Thank you so much, Rob, from our small group of old biddies who have been campaigning against hunting in north Devon since 2018, and from the 120 or so local people who report hunt activity to us each season. You're an inspiration to us all and we could not be more thrilled by the prospect of a change in the law. We're pretty sure our local hunts - too many of the buggers for comfort over here - will carry on anyway, or at least the worst of the worst will keep hunting, but the tide is turning fast. Hopefully more landowners will see the light and stop allowing hunting on their property. Police enforcement will be key to success. May the force be with us, lol ;) Wishing you and the team a great Xmas. Let's hope hunts disgrace themselves beautifully on Boxing Day, hammering another nail into their own coffin. Love and peace x

It’s great progress and thanks to PTW, AAF, LACS and especially the HSA for bringing this about. I was concerned to read that this new legislation might not come in until 2029. Is that your understanding Rob?

We must all keep the pressure on in every way possible to bring about a proper ban on hunting with hounds as soon as possible. Another 3 or 4 years of foxes, hares and deer being cruelly tormented and killed is simply not acceptable. 🦊💪

The government has enough mp's to pass the hunting ban now so why is it waiting untill 2029 ? But which time labour will be out and probably hunt parties will be in and people will be focused on other topics.

I agree It’s a worry David. Why can’t this government just get it done?

@ PTW can we focus efforts and lobby to bring this legislation forward quickly?

Have emailed my MP asking why the government has not banned gunting

Thank you for all your determined work.

I have one question, what will happen to the Hounds? Is there a clause to protect them please?

Their 'owners' may feel that the Hounds have no use for them, and as you have shown are ruthless when comes to the Hounds wellbeing. Thank you for everything Protect the Wild are doing!!!! I fully support you. Enjoy! xx
