We're fighting to end the badger cull - SIGN THE PETITION!
Together we can end the senseless badger cull
As you may have noticed recently we have been really pushing hard against the cruel and senseless badger cull, which since 2013 has resulted in the killing of around 250,000 badgers to protect the dairy industry from bovine TB - a disease in cattle.
The cull is a failure on many levels.
Culled badgers have been predominantly healthy.
Cattle-based measures implemented from 2010 (particularly the introduction of the annual tuberculin skin (SICCT) test) are responsible for the slowing, levelling, peaking and decrease in bovine TB in cattle during the study period.
Badger culling appears to have no effect.
So to take our campaigning further and to reach more people with our message that the cull MUST END we have commissioned a series of animations designed to highlight the cruelty and futility of the badger cull.
The first of which we launched earlier today and can be viewed below. It is a punchy 30 second piece that exposes how many badgers are shot and left to bleed out and if something isn’t done the death toll is only going to increase.
And we are now calling on an incoming Labour government (should they win the election) to honour its promise to stop the badger cull.
We urge urge the Labour Party to champion evidence-based policies that prioritise the welfare of animals and address the root causes of bTB transmission.
Ending the badger cull and redirecting resources towards comprehensive disease management strategies, including improved testing protocols and biosecurity measures, is not only morally justifiable but also fiscally responsible.

What are we doing to tackle the cull
We have commissioned a series of powerful animations designed to highlight the cruelty and futility of the badger cull.
Through our Equipment Fund we’re proud to have been providing trail cams and night vision optics to front-line groups taking direct action in the field to protect badgers.
We’re syndicating the blog posts of the Badger Crowd – a team of specialised ecologists and scientists who focus on badgers and the cull.
We created Protectors of the Wild, a free resource that looks in detail at the laws protecting badgers and other animals. Protectors explains what we can do if we see a wildlife crime taking place.
And we are now calling on an incoming Labour government to honour its promise to stop the badger cull. Join us and sign a letter to the Shadow Environment Secretary today!
ADOPT A BADGER AND SUPPORT US FURTHER
At Protect the Wild we are campaigning against badger persecution and the ongoing badger cull.
By adopting a badger with Protect the Wild you will help fund our efforts to protect badgers and help expose wildlife crimes committed against wild badger populations.
As an adopter, not only will you be helping fund vital work, but you will also receive an exclusive Protect the Wild adoption pack including cuddly toy, glossy photo, and an information fact sheet.
The badger cull is one of the most corrupt and unscientific pieces of legislation to come out of of a government, and for any subsequent governments to carry on with it is equally criminal #innocentbadger
