I understand the concern, but the numbers don’t back it up. The same worry was raised before Makerfield, and I received 19 votes there. We’d expect a similar result here.
That’s not a failure, it’s the point. This isn’t a vote-winning campaign, it’s a publicity one. In Scotland, we ran polling before and after the Edinburgh Central election and saw a real jump in public awareness of the guga hunt. That’s what this strategy is built to do: get an issue talked about that the main parties would rather ignore.
Clacton gives us a direct chance to put Farage’s record on animal welfare in front of the country for the next month, in an election he built to be all about himself. We’ll be clear throughout that this is about publicity, not vote share, the same way it’s been the last two times we’ve done this, and vote splitting hasn’t been a factor either time.

The news channels and I’ve Got News For You will almost certainly make fun of you standing, but the opportunity to highlight to the people of Clacton and the wider country Farage’s and Reforms support for bloodsports will weaken his and their position still further. I watched Farage on GBNews a couple of years ago defending hunts, claiming no foxes were killed anymore because of the 2004/5 Hunting Act, a law made deliberately weak by Blair & Co. He insisted that all hunts did was 'trail-hunting' & complained the spoilsports wanted even that banned now.
That's when I knew he was a liar or a fool & never watched his programme again.

Something catchy calling in to question Farage's support of ALL ANIMAL Cruelty as well as being clearly corrupt and very greedy. Protect the Wild not feather your nest! This is why he called the election as in some bizarre way it will justify why he needs so many millions to spend personally. Nobody gives £5M away without expecting something big in return and not one case but others. He has become fabulously wealthy by pretending to be a politician and when he is called out he says but I wasn't a Politician when they gave me the money. Right so what did you do before you were a politician and why did people give you such huge sums?? There are so many worthwhile causes to spend millions on protecting and he isn't one. Good luck. Fantastic. This level of visibility is exactly what's needed to help end hunters' 21 year illegal hunting spree, an organised crime scandal of epic proportions. And it scores a wonderful double-whammy, not just highlighting wildlife's plight but bringing Farage's promise to bring hunting to people's attention. A genius PR move, Rob. I cannot wait to see the outcome!
Feel so let down by Labour, not that I vote for them, but to allow hunting to continue as they have shatters what they promised. We have a Lib Dem MP and I’m quite a fan though I vote Green. Go Rob.
