Outstanding work by PTW Charlie, proud to be of some small assistance to the legends on the ground and their unwavering commitment. Keep the pressure on!

Thank you Ian. And we absolutely will keep that pressure on (all the way up until they all start behaving like decent people and we can all relax and do something else instead :) )

This is some of the best news at a time when there's so much bad and such dreadful things happening. Much of it we can do little about apart from speaking out and donating to charities, if we can, who are helping the victims. So, reading of the support that's enabled by subscribers, which I'm pleased to be a small part of, is uplifting. See the breadth and depth of support for your work and that of the wonderful sabs and monitors, is inspiring and humbling. I am fortunate O can afford to help a little, in a cause I've felt strongly about since childhood (I'm quite old now) and I hope to live to see a real end to fox hunting, stag hunting and all forms of hunting with dogs, once and for all.

Happy to commit to such a worthwhile cause. Already supporting the League Against Cruel Sports and Hunt Saboteurs Association, plus signing SO many petitions from animal defenders around the world. At 76, I'm hoping that we can at least end the cruelty and greed that abuses and kills animals, birds and wildlife in our own country before my demise.

May numbers grow. Awareness spreads. Dangerous hunters dragged off to court or locked up. National news reports all disgusting murderers and I win the lottery. If I do I will change everything..plz plz.....

Thank you Trevellyan. Yes, it seems odd sometimes that after so long we are still working to spread awareness, but that's the reality, So many people don't know what goes on or have only had their information from mainstream sources that essentialy quote industry lobbyists -- we have to do better than that, And fingers crossed for that lottery win :)

I give what I can when I can. When I win the lottery I will send you a big lump!

Congratulations on reaching 500 Substack subscribers, Charlie. 🥳🎉

So happy for you. It it evident how much time and effort has gone into researching and writing your excellent posts which are always extremely informative and well written, although harrowing to read at times. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to protect wildlife and stop barbaric suffering of animals. Proud to support you! 👊

Thank you Helen. As a writer it is really, really gratifying when someone recognises the effort (and the innumerable corrections!) that go into even short aticles when you're trying to find the right way to convey difficult and emotive messages - it's a tricky line to tread sometimes, but in the end we are doing what we can for wildlife and I wouldn't wnat to be doing anything else! Thanks for your support :)

You’re welcome. You should be extremely proud of your accomplished writing, Charlie, it’s always impeccably and eloquently done. I imagine writing articles must be difficult, but writing about this highly emotive and upsetting subject must be especially so. But you really do get it right every time. You should be even more proud that you are putting your talent to such an amazing cause.

Please let us all remember that this year there is gping to be a general election and the party that votes to eliminate hunting TOTALY will get our votes. I DO NOT VOTE FOR CRUELTY so my vote will go to that party only and we all should do the same no matter what other issues we may not agree with. We have to ban ALL forms of hunting and leave no loop=holes.

Expand full comment

That is great news! I myself don't pay for the subscription substack as I donate to protect the wild monthly instead. I just wish that I could win the lottery and give yourselves and the brave hunt sabs a lot more! That and signing/creating as many petitions as possible to help make hunting far harder and hopefully get it banned and hoping that whoever is voted for in the next general election does finally ban all hunting once and for all! (Labour has said in their previous manifesto pledges that they would ban hunting but then again, they were the ones who riddled the 2004 "hunting act" with the loopholes that have enabled the hunts to get away with literally murder despite the overwhelming video evidence shown to the courts showing they they are deliberately murdering wildlife!)

Absolutely true, Cara, that none of the Westminster crew have had the guts to put a stop to the hunt psychomob once and for all. And even if the Commons tried to pass an effective law, the huntin' and shootin' 19th century throwbacks in the House of Lords would do their best to water it down. We need drastic political reform in this country, starting with getting rid of the liblabcon uniparty by changing from the 'first past the post' electoral system which benefits them, to an 'every vote counts' system that benefits the voters.

I completely agree Pamela Preedy. That is also exactly what happened to the hunting trophies (importation prohibition) bill. It got to the house of "lords" where scum pro hunt members deliberately delayed and did everything they possibly could to stop the bills passage and it sadly worked. Even though I know a general election will probably not be happening until the end of this year, I myself am still stuck on who to vote for or even whether to vote at all as how can we trust that whoever we vote for isn't going to just promise us that they will do these things and either do absolutely nothing or make these things even worse (if, in any way, that is possible) if they get into power? Such as labour's then leader Tony Blair admitting that he deliberately added those loopholes onto the 2004 "hunting act" so that the evil hunt killers can carry on and which has now enabled hunts to be able to openly lie and say they are "trial hunting" or "managing the deer population" when they are not and get freely away with it!!! I just don't know what to do at the moment.

Sorry, meant to say "into" the 2004 "hunting act", not "onto".
