As someone who lives in Dorset, I am glad to see that the police have actually done something good this time. There is far too much of the saying "one rule for one and one rule for another" with violence against the brave sabs and getting those attacking and killing thugs properly punished!

Well done put them away for years

OMG this is disgusting. Just shows us what type of people the sabs are dealing with ...absolute nut cases. They are dangerous and if the police ignore this behavior then yes something is very wrong with the law. The sabs are so brave, be careful out there. I wish we could do more to help you guys.

Its not surprising that the 'police' don't get involved, they're too busy getting little brown envelopes to 'look the other way' and harass the sabs instead. Heaven forbid, its as if their 'friends' the hunts would be doing anything ILLEGAL!!!!!

Totally disgraceful attacking people and in particular women, Just shows what low life they are'

the Police MUST attend when there are calls for help and the disgraceful stealing of equipment and damaging vehicles from the oafs employed by the hunting monsters.

Whilst sabbing Prince Charles hunt back in the eighties, several of us were beaten up by hired thugs. Two of our number were threatened by a loaded shotgun & a week later someone filled the diesel rover with petrol & loosened off all the wheel nuts.

So sorry you experienced such shocking brutality from Charles’ hunt. Thank you for bravely defending foxes, I have so much admiration and respect for you.

Gosh, and no doubt they got away with it? When I was doing wildlife rescue in '80s/90s I made lots of sab friends although I didn't go out with them for fear of putting my 'patients' and horses at risk. My main sab contact had a similar experience with the landy surrounded and being attacked, the police refused to turn out. They gave him some police protection when a burning rag was put through his letterbox when he and his young family were in bed!! I know he moved and we lost touch but have seen his name appear in posts and his photo still with the sabs! He is still active, so much courage! I salute ALL sabs. Things cooled a bit after 2004, but so clear they are all back! Not much longer though .......

I have often thought that a few good shire horses would be a good idea for sabs that can ride.Blocking roads gates ect. No ordinary horse can stand up to the strength of a shire.I am in Tadcaster where Humphrey Smith rules and have seen the white shires that he uses crush the bonnet of a car that got impatient blasting his horn...sorted

It is a disgrace that the police are not taking strong action every time a hunt sab is attacked.

No doubt they would if sabs attacked hunt members. Amazing courage and self control needed to be a sab.

If the Hunts were as innocent as they try o make out they would not need to use violence.

Hi All. We are working very hard to build a community here on Substack, a safe place for people to come and discuss issues. We know that conversations might be robust and that opinions are strong, but we're not going to allow our comment section to turn into a version of Twitter where there are personal attacks made on commenters. We can not moderate comments because of the way Substack works. Our only option is to leave them up or delete them - and in some cases ban certain email addresses. We will be deleting some comments from this page. Hopefully the vast majority of visitors here will understand why and agree with us.

Such a pity that someone has to suffer attack before the police take interest in illegal hunters with dogs.

No, don't tell me that "SCUM" hunter "SUPPORTERS" have "ACTUALLY" been arrested, I don't "BELIEVE" it, your "JOKING", come on, that's not true, "REALLY" "HONESTLY", well blow me down with a "FEATHER", what a "SURPRISE" I just wish I could hide in the bushes, with some "TOUGH GUYS", then when the "COWARDS" strike, we come out and "BEAT" the "SHIT" out of them, then "FADE AWAY", so we don't get caught, it might be "ILLEGAL", no more than the "COWARD" "SCUM" do, but I don't care less, I know 2 wrongs don't make it right, but us "WILD ANIMAL" "LOVERS" are in an "UPHILL" battle, with "CORRUPT" senior "POLICE", our "CORRUPT" "JUDGES", "CORRUPT" "MPs" and all the "WILD" "ANIMAL" "KILLERS/MURDERERS" "LAND OWNERS" ,there all "SAVAGE" "SICK" "SUB HUMAN" "SCUM", I only refer to land owners who allow the "MASSACRE" of our "AMAZING" "WILDLIFE". "LOVER of our WILDLIFE" "HATER" of WILDLIFE KILLERS"

It doesn't surprise me at all that the Police didn't attend when phoned. They're probably in the pocket of the hunt anyway...name them, expose them, ditto the judiciary. Remember... they are not our friends.

So sorry Rosemary's horses have been hurt by these cowardly monsters, so pleased theyre recovering, what about mentally? What if one had reared and done damage? Too right if these attacks had happened in town centre they would attend in a flash. Its so wrong, the law needs to protect the sabs, not ignore the almost murdering of them as well as wildlife. If a sab dies, who is to blame? Sabs for being there, hunts"men," or cops for thinking "f..k it, i cant be arsed.? " Way off this, i know, but i had a stalker, instead of helping me, told me to knock on his door to ask why. Asked if i would get wages for doing their job, NO surprise surprise. Obviously i had more sensr. He was diagnosed schizophrenic. Still waiting for help, 25 years or so later. Could write a book, cops have become not only usrless, bloody dangerous. The whole system needs sorting.

Thank you Ann. They are fully recovered and relaxed now. As I said, it was a while ago (year+). I was not there to witness the attacks, always late evening, or night; that's when the creeps are about. If I had been there, it would have been human GBH as injury to me would have got a bigger investigation! We all seem to be ok now and I hope help does come for you soon. Animals are a great solace, hope you have one near. Good luck. x

I am so sorry your horses got hurt by those barbarians but I am glad that they have recovered and are ok now. Good on you as well for rescuing and adopting an ex race horse too! If I had the land and the money, I would love to adopt an ex race horse (or 2) as well!
