Laws are all well and good, but, there are and will always be, law breakers in all walks of life, because the laws are not enforced enough in this country. Too many loopholes, corrupt magistrates and people in high places who don’t care and are only after status and monetary gain.

Plus the police are a joke and fail to follow up on crimes they deem will not result in prosecution.

This country claims to be, or wants to be a leader of animal welfare, but I don’t see it myself 😤

Judges who are involved in this cruelty must either stop supporting this cruelty, or be debarred.

Hopefully it wont be too long before we rid ourselves of this useless, corrupt, cruel Tory Government. If polls are correct, a Labour government will take up the reigns in 2024. Should wildlife organisations such as protect the Wild, League, Against Cruel Sports, RSPB, RSPCA, Whale and Dolphine Trust etc, be talking to the Labour Party now, with the view of changing the law or introducing a new law which will produce successful prosecutions against those who persecute wildlife? Sir Keir Starmer was a successful director of the CPS. He would be a good person to start with and, I would hope, be able to advise our wild life protectors of what needs to be done to bring these cruel psychopaths to book. .

I tried to get them to stop this slaughter years ago. It's so hard to achieved.

Disturbing read, the criminal justice system is indeed broken, we need more Greens in parliament, because The Cons clearly don’t care about animalkind , and unfortunately Starmer’s Labour is not going to do anything either for animalkind ! We have to keep exposing the cruelty and educating the public only we can make change

What do we expect, with the "COWARDLY" "CORRUPT", "JUDGES" "MEMBERS of PARLIAMENT" "POLICE" and anyone in "POWER", our "WILDLIFE" is "FUCKED", these "DIRTY" DISGUSTING" pieces of "FILTH" our "GUARDIANS" ??? of our "NATION", can't even guard there own "ARSE", no one in authority cares, we need a "REVOLUTION" in our nation, certain members of the human (joke) race, need to be "DEALT" with, in the most "VIOLENT" way, because the "LAW" have no intention of ever going to help save our most "PRECIOUS" "MAGNIFICENT" "BEAUTIFUL" "WILDLIFE", the word "VIOLENT" might seem a bit strong for some good people, but what else can "WILD ANIMAL LOVERS" do, something needs to be done , the "ANIMALS" need us "ANIMAL LOVERS" more than ever, we need some "CELEBS", to get INVOLVED", "HATER OF INJUSTICE FOR OUR WILDLIFE".

The cozy relationship between the hunts, police and judiciary undermines trust in the latter two.

Most informative, and accurate to the Wildlife issues. Disappointment that your report did not cover the deer hunting which goes on throughout the year with impunity from the inadequate laws, and with little help from those who turn a blind eye to the flaunting of the Cruelty involved.

It's very depressing reading. Until there is proper legislation with prosecutions, convictions and punishments to match, it will never end. We need wildlife crime to be seen as one of the worst types of crime. There will always be those who break the law of course, but more do so when they know they have protection from prosecution or a puny little fine at worst. This tory government has proved it does not care about the welfare of other species and some MPs actively support animal cruelty. What sort of civilised society is that? They should be prosecuted for the illegal, immoral badger cull for a start! I know what I'd like to do to the perpetrators of this sort of crime. Animals are seen as nothing more than things/objects to used, abused and exploited and it will take a long time for those ingrained attitudes to change sadly.

The report is a depressing read of facts we were aware of regardless of statistics. Lots and lots of words again but unless we can 'turn' the right people to act on this, we will continue to bang our heads on the wall! So many charities joining up and supporting the report, it is at least evidence for the cause of desperate need for wildlife protection. It is hard to read it and not be depressed but on the positive side, which we must hang onto, the pressure is building in our favour and will ultimately succeed. I am totally convinced we WILL win this war and I continue to defy 'naysayers'!
