The Police and Crime Commissioner elections take place on 2 May, on the same day as people turn out to vote in the local elections. In North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, the PCC responsibilities are being taken over by the new mayors. If you live in Yorkshire, this is your chance to vote for a mayor who will prioritise the welfare of wildlife.
Dorset. I have emailed the Labour candidate and the Independent candidate together. I am not bothering with Conservative or Lib Dems!
To date, I have had no response from Labour, but the Independent candidate, Marianne Storey replied the same day. She said 'The law is clear. Data confirms that illegal fox hunting is a particular problem in Dorset. And so, to that end, it is evident to me that this needs to be an important part of a Dorset Police and Crime Plan and I will be ensuring, as such, that the plan and subsequent decision making is underpinned by public involvement panels and that relevant specialist teams are deployed to tackle the problem.
I HAVE VOTED FOR THE GREEN CANDIATE BY POSTAL VOTE, SO WILL EMAIL AND ASK WHAT ACTION HE WILL TAKE. UNFORTUNATELY ON PRIVATE LAND PEOPLE WILL BE ASSISTED BY THE OWNERS WHO SUPPORT BLOOD SPORTS AND THE KILLING OF RAPTORS. AND THE POLICE ARE IN THE POCKETS OF THE WEALTHY.
