There do not care about the dogs , horses or what trauma the drivers of vehicles go through.

I think its time they have a total ban on keeping any animals , they are playing games with their lives as well as murdering our wildlife. Are there any animal loving judges and police out there?

Meant THEY.

No end to this cruelty. No Judge who cares or is straight. Police being paid off.....So one day true justice will follow, then all the murderers will be named and dealt with. I am ashamed to be British. What a terrible country this is.

I think it’s the ‘old boy’ network and probably the Freemasons at work here so they protect each others back

breaking the law since 2004 pretending to trail hunt it was all on the tv news yet still it goes on this really needs sorting. What a useless government we have. Time for a change.

The dogs mean nothing to these animal haters. The law should take these animals away from cruel people and put a ban on them ever having animals...including their horses...animals don't deserve to be stuck with rotten humans like these. Perhaps RSPCA could intervene :) that's a joke they don't have any powers over humans like this for some reason.

I don’t believe there is any law to protect these hounds as they are not pets or livestock, so they fall in between current legislation with no legal protection. That needs to change. I believe all ‘working’ dogs including hounds should be microchipped, wear a collar with ID and have the same protection as pets and livestock.

Definitely. I'm sure PTW are on to this but if not hopefully they will be pushing for this too it's so important.

The RSPCA should have powers to remove these animals from this filthy scum I am hoping when labour get in this will all change, it better had or there will be war.

Surely there’s a case for a Community Protection Order (CPN) to be lodged against the Pytchley, or indeed any other hunt that cannot control its hounds and endangers road users in this way?

Might PTW have the resources and expertise to look into doing this as it’s a very effective way of curtailing the hunts illegal activities? Alternatively offering supporters of PTW that are local to a hunt to take up such a campaign of action?

Warwickshire Police issued a CPN against Warwickshire Hunt for anti social behaviour, this was later removed in favour of a secret protocol (thought to be written by the hunt) supported by PCC Mr Secombe, despite numerous FOI requests both police and PCC have refused to share the content. Matt Western MP also wrote and neither have responded, the MP has also written to the Home Secretary. The hunt continue unabated with their anti social behaviour, road safety issues etc. much to the disgust of local residents. So unless the police are willing to take action for illegal activity then CPN doesn’t work either. Grrrrrr

This scum that hunt don't give a toss about ANY animal as soon as the dogs are not wanted they kill them, you can't blame the dogs for what happens its these evil bastards that train them to murder and it is time all this stopped, I have sent a very strong email to my MP about various things, time this crap government got things sorted out this scum have been illegally hunting since 2004 and still doing it, they attack sabs that are filming even a disabled one was attacked driving a car they are some of the most nasty evil filthy scum on this earth and need sorting out. Lets hope LABOUR get in a they keep their promise to ban ALL hunting. Personally I think Sunak is scared because members of the government hunt and lets not forget Charles and the tart he is married to they are hunters.

Don't forget that it was a Labour pm , Tony Bliar, who deliberately sabotaged the hunting ban . I wouldn't hold my breath .

you think surely these scum of the earth Men (and use that term 'men' loosely) couldn't possibly commit a more vile act, than they do. Those poor hounds, they don't deserve to be brought up a part of this heinous, despicable life. They have no choice. Another innocent creature being abused.

I would like to see added to the Bill ,

Make it illegal to manipulate a horse ridden by a huntsperson , in a dangerous and intimidating way . I’m sure the legal people could word it much better . So many time we see the hunt doing this .

I think it is time to also consider strong legislation on all hunting by banning it completely. It is clearly a danger to the general public as well as hounds and livestock. They are clearly out of control in a public place and it is only a matter of time before there are human fatalities. The public need to be aware of the exemption that hunt dogs have under the law as it stands.

Hi Heather, yes aware of the Warwickshire situation and while the position is unfortunate, it hasn’t put Sercombe, Warwickshire police or the hunt in a good light, which is a silver lining. There are other CPN’s in place on a couple of other hunts too I think? Which have had an effect. In any event I think they are a useful tool and a thorn in the hunts side, so we’ll worth pursuing

Would it be possible for them to be charged with reckless endangerment, both of the public and animals?

I emailed the Director General's Office of the National Trust about the hunts trespassing on NT land.

Here is their reply.

Dear Shirley

Thank you for contacting Hilary McGrady, our Director General, about reports of hunting on land in our care. Hilary asked me to reply on her behalf.

We take these matters very seriously. We don’t license trail hunting activities, including hound exercise, and hunting groups do not have permission to be on Trust land. However, like other groups, hunts do not require a licence to cross our land if they remain on bridleways or other rights of way.

While incidents of trespass have significantly declined in the last few years, we understand the concerns raised, and want to assure people that we are doing what we can to reaffirm our position.

The size of our countryside sites mean it is impossible for our staff to be everywhere at once, and we must also keep the welfare of staff in mind.

However, we investigate all incidents of possible trespass and keep all options under consideration. We always speak to any known hunts that are found to have trespassed to reiterate our boundaries and reaffirm that they have no right or permission to be on our land. Any concerns about illegal activity should be reported to the police directly as well as informing the Trust. We will continue to work with the police to ensure incidents on National Trust land are appropriately investigated. We are not able to comment on the outcome of any reported incidents.

I hope this provides some clarity and reassurance. For more information on our position on hunting please visit our website.

Thanks again for getting in touch and for your valuable support.

Kind regards

Chris
