Just reminder of the pair of them taking George on his first "exciting shoot" aged 8!!

Off at a tangent a little but on the subject of enjoying killing, I am an avid listener of Classic FM, but come 10 a.m. it gets turned off as Alexander Armstrong is another who thinks it's great and good fun to shoot deer. Stands to reason he supports fox hunting as well.

He does, he made some comment about no greater sight than them all dressed up to go (murdering, my word) so I can't stand him either.

Oh how disgusting! So George is a murderer already . . .

Thank you for this Elaine and Vanessa 👍. I never trusted that "Alexander Armstrong" since flicking through the guide, I read the details of an episode where it said he ate/tried barbaric, cruel and uneccessary SHARK FIN SOUP!!! Sharks are endangered because of that!!! Never trusted him after that and what you have both said has now reinforced to me that "he" is an utter (swearword) too!!! "Chris Packham" is another who thinks it's great and good fun to shoot deers (alongside elephants and cats) as well because "he" can apparently "see the benefits of "maintaining" that population". "His" words, not mine. So, if we were all like Chris Packham, shooting anybody dead in the street would be justified simply because "we can see the benefit of "maintaining" that population".

I couldn't agree with you more David! You might be interested in reading this (unless you have already) that I found a few weeks ago: https://www.discovermagazine.com/planet-earth/as-human-population-grows-people-and-wildlife-will-share-more-living-spaces

I HAVE JUST READ THE ARTICLE ON THE LINK YOU SENT ME, AND IT IS THE SAME WHEN WE HAVE THE AMAZON BEING CLEARED TO MAKE WAY FOR CATTLE, AND THE DAVID ATTENBOROUGH PROGRAMME WHERE FILM CREWS TRAVELED TO VARIOUS COUNTRIES AND WE SEE ANIMALS LIVING AROUND HUMAN HABITATS. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, NO ONE CARES THE FUTURE, ONLY THE HERE AND NOW.

Yes they are all hypocritical sadists as they hunt Stags unnecessarily and go Fox hunting!

No one should have all that obscene amount of money either. They should be donating millions to animal and the NHS charities as should other super rich people as they can never spend that amount in their lifetimes. Even then they would have more than enough to repair and maintain their houses and castles. I was a royalist until our lovely Queen Elizabeth died, although she was not innocent either, but now I am no longer and I am especially sorry that the younger ones are not setting a good example and are also animal killers. Princess Catherine in particular upsets me as she was not born into this barbaric tradition but came from a working class background.

The royal family should be leading the way in decent behaviour. Killing for 'sport', keeping animals for food, wearing clothes that are created from the suffering and exploitation of animals - it all has to go. From bearskin hats to ermine-trimmed robes, we can use synthetic materials while we keep our precious traditions alive; we do not have to give anything up except our sense of being entitled to take whatever we want.

A very informative article, thank you. Personally, I don’t understand the general publics fascination and support for the royal family and the feudal system. The King’s annual honours list harks back to empire, a shameful part of British history. We need a republic if the issues raised in the article are to be resolved for the better.

I can never understand the general public's "love" for them either Dave M. I am afraid that I fully believe what my grandfather always used to say about anyone who likes/follows them, "they are all brainwashed, they can't see or think for themselves"!!!

What we like is the tradition and if the individuals are worthy, we like them too.

In the case of animals, NO members of the so called "royal family" are worthy. They ALL delight in killing animals. They like barbaric hunting because they claim it is "tradition", the same as what sick bear baiting and child labour was classed as in the UK years ago (boys in the Victorian era cleaning the chimneys).

They have a responsibility to be part of changing relationships with nature. It's not acceptable to call on others to do it, many of whom are not wealthy, unless they're prepared to lead by example. They are pit of step with the majority here and many examples are highlighted hete, from building on prime farmland and wildlife habitat, to being deaf to public disgust with the enjoyment of killing wildlife.

It's not enough to repeat that housing is sustainable and think that's all that's needed. If at least some of it is truly affordable, as well as even more needed, social housing. Communities shoukd be a mix of all that, as well as having the minimum of negative impact on habitat. It's not credible that it can be reinstated within new developments to an equivalent degree, or achieved without destruction and loss of life by seasonal measures.

I'm not clear headed enough to be sure I'm putting that as well as I wish to. So apologies for any inconsistencies or parts that are poorly worded.

Not at all, your meaning is clear and I agree with you. Houses for yet more humans is wrong and using farm land is a nonsense anyway - do people not realise that fruits and vegetables need soil to grow in?

AS WITH ALL POLITICANS THEY ONLY LOOK AT THE SHORT TERM VIEW, NOT THE LONG TERM VIEW. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS AND ARE BEST FRIENDS WITH BUSINESS PEOPLE WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY, NOT OUR OR ANIMAL WELFARE.

ALL members of the so called "royal family" are nothing but murderers and hypocrites, the same as Chris Packham (why would "someone" be so rightfully against barbaric fox hunting and sadistic badger "culling", yet be so for/happily actively encouraging abhorrent deer, elephant and cat hunting/shooting, sorry, getting his own words precise here: 'blasting' and "culling" them? Isn't that Speciesm, which if I recall, he had a go at someone else for too??!!)!!! I have absolutely NO time for ANY of them whatsoever, never have and never will, and regard them ALL with nothing but the strongest contempt possible and that is putting it mildly!!! As for the neverending housing and cars, the simple reason is "Human Overpopulation": https://populationmatters.org/the-facts/. I was truly shocked to discover that (also strongly considering for a minute here just how big Australia is compared to just how small the tiny island, that is one of THE MOST nature depleted countries in the world (it is in the bottom 10% of countries globally for nature), called the UK, that is so small that it is almost impossible to find/see on the world map, is) the current human population in Australia is 26 million, and is predicted to increase to 42 million by the end of this century: https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/australia

Whilst the human population for the UK is currently 69 million, and is predicted to increase to 74/75 million by the end of this century!!!!: https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/united-kingdom

Why is the UK so nature depleted? Because it has TOO MANY HUMANS here, demanding TOO MUCH!!!!

Chris Packham really does that? This is terrible - is there no good man in the whole world? There are too many humans on this planet and if we don't start admitting that we are in deep trouble.

Yes, I am afraid so Inogen. If you would like the proof, it is here: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chris-packham-gets-controversial-again-273482

Although, I can show you more proof if you would like. I completely agree with you that there are far too many humans on this planet. "Human Overpopulation" is the biggest "elephant in the room" that virtually no politician or government wants to properly consider or address but it is getting too out of hand and needs to be properly and seriously admitted and addressed now!

Again, I completely agree with you David!! According to the research done (the link is provided in my other comment to you), Africa is predicted to be the one place where there will be the most human/wildlife conflict, followed by South America, because of human overpopulation and the demand for space by 2070. According to this link here: https://worldpopulationreview.com/continents/africa

Africa currently has a human population of 1 billion and a half and it is predicted to increase to over 3 billion and a half by the end of this century!!!!

The small amount of good news is that at least the human population for most of Europe is predicted to decline/decrease.

THE ROYAL FAMILY ARE A DISGRACE , TAKING THEIR CHILD TO A SHOOT. THIS IS NOT THE NORM. THEY ARE TOO FACED , KILL BIRDS ETC ,BUT PROMOTE SAVING OTHER WILD ANIMALS.

Indeed, they hypocritically promote "saving wild animals" in words only Deborah. In reality, their actions show the complete opposite of what they preach to others. There are plenty of sick pictures of them on the web "posing" over the murdered bodies of wild animals (from wildebeests and water buffaloes to elephants) who were sadistically killed by them in trophy hunts, dating all the way back to "victoria and albert" with a poor tiger 🤬🤬🤬🤬!!!

This is quite possibly the biggest slap in the face to indigenous people all over the planet. In America, and probably all other white western countries, rates of suicide are highest compared to every other ethnicity because we are economically excluded, socially excluded, oppressed and degraded. Our women and girls missing or murdered because our culture is under constant threat. What an insult. What a massive insult.
