Thank God for this news re delay to badger concern. Let us hope that new government will see the light and put an end to this appalling action. I also hope that in future those responsible at DEFRA will be called to defend themselves about this disgraceful action. All should be held accountable.
DEFRA need good look at themselves. Brother in law retired vet once took job with them - everything you might have concluded about them beggars belief - couldn’t survive in any outside business - he soon left.
Badgers regularly visit my garden and are a delight when they bring their latest brood - once had 3 plus parents outside sitting room window- they won’t cull mine who are safe in my vicar’s garden !
To admit grave mistakes were made and take responsibility for just being Farmers puppets would be too much to ask? When something is wrong it’s wrong cover ups just make it worse. Step back DEFRA and as a collective take a very long look at yourselves and that goes for Tories who fight change when the scales are tipped in their favour……always determined even if it means fighting dirty.
WILL ANY POLITICAN KEEP THEIR PROMISE? WE ALL KNOW PEOPLE WHO LIKE KILLING WILDLIFE WILL CARRY ON REGARDLESS, AS THE BUTCHERY TAKES PLACE ON PRIVATE LAND AND THE POLICE CANT/WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT
Yes excuse - the cattle food troughs are too close to ground and badgers climb in and the TB is caught from their ursine on the food - not from their urine in the field. All farmers need to do is raise level of troughs and end TB infection - this has been known for probably at least 20 years but no action taken. Maybe they get DEFRA compensation?

I have just received news that the Badger MURDER has been going on since 1st June!
230,000 have been killed so far.
let us hope Labour keep their promise...and that the Tories are obliterated
Hello Stephen, you are so right.
The tories should have been obliterated when thatcher brought the country to its knees.
Here's hoping that the Labour party will get it right and save all of our beautiful Badgers. Thank you Anne
we need to protect our badgers and stop the slaughter. DEFRA needs to be held accountable. I hope that labour will keep its promises to our wildlife.
All fingers crossed!!!

LETS HOPE LABOUR KEEP THEIR. PROMISE .AND HOPE AND PRAY THAT THE CONS DONT GET BACK IN.
DEFRA - another Government failure collective.
No other business gets subsidies and whole
Civil service dedicated to protect their antiquated practices like farmers have.
My two badger colonies will not be culled!
Labour have U-turned on the promises about the terrible bedroom tax and two child cap etc...so don't bet on them re this crucial issue...

Let’s protect the innocents
Doesnt serm to be keeping my comments.
Is bovine tb the only reason for killing badgers, or an excuse used by those who wish to rid their land of badgers?
