The more the public are exposed to it, the better. Take their heads out of the sand!

These despicable vermin words fail me, i attended the atrocious sceens at Altcar were i witnessed this first hand these scum derive pleasure not only killing hares but also the hounds were spared no compassion a lurcher had broken its leg giving chase and was dragged by the scruff to a waiting van until a sab interveined and asked to take the dog to a vet god only knows what was going to happen to it but we insisted and eventually Altcar was banned evil beyind words 😪😪😪

Thank god for your intervention, poor dog! Do you know what happened to it? If it survived, I bet legally it had to return to cruel owner, but hope not!

Some vets are brilliant at supporting, others are not. I was lucky with mine. Some people owning a little grey pony alone in a field, left for 3+months to go to Spain. A neighbour who knew nothing about horses was asked to just ensure there was water for him. Long story short, pony became ill and we took him in. Vet x-rayed and treated him and we held onto him. On their return, owners wanted to take us to court for horse abduction! Vet told them, well you can but you must pay all vets fees back +livery and care for the time you have been away. The pony now is healthy and has a great home. If there is a court case against you for cruelty by neglect, I will appear as a witness on their behalf, not yours! The pony lived out his life with us, no court cases! Vets like that are not common enough!

Joeann, the world needs more people like you and Rosemary. You are the salt of earth and you should be so proud of yourselves.

Thank you. I have been blessed with a whole life of animals and not so many people! Every rescue, every recovery is so heart warming, and gives so much back, I wish I could let everyone share that feeling. I know people on here care and some may have the opportunity like me, but wish all, including the 'non-believers' could experience that wonderful feeling. Go do some volunteering at a good place people! Free therapy!

It's heart warming to know there are people out there who care as much as I do.... this revolting, inhumane, elitist horror has to stop. The **** (you can fill in the blank!) know their on the way out.... the days when this is tolerated are numbered.

Its is encouraging that there are so many of us that detest animal cruelty. I just hope it all stops sooner rather than later, before too many little defenceless live's are lost.

utterly depraved

No hunting with anything ! No dogs , ferrets, traps or anything else . Its barbaric. We must look out for our wild life and stop all cruelty.

May I say from Scotland that it takes place all over Scotland. Hare corsing is rife and the Scottish polis aren't interested . Generally young men culpable. Hares are an easy target, I could probably catch one in my hands.

Not so young men are still laughing and catching them. The Scottish polis know and let it go unless they've got an issue with someone involved. They give no shit..not interested

Expand full comment

Do Scots sabs get involved? I imagine it would be extremely dangerous to tackle those men (bad as badger baiters) but pressure on the Police seems to be starting to have effect in England. If you know of any action, you will find much support here! Cameras, possibly even a drone (eventually when we have all increased our subscriptions! lol). Looks like hounding the police (awful pun - sorry!) must be the first step? It must break your heart!

Expand full comment

Well I'm sorry to say that the Scottish polis aren't interested. English landowners in Scotland follow their own 'rules'. Scotland remains an english person's paradise for shooting, trapping and cruelty. I'm not being racist, just stating facts. Check the land records.

Disgusting!!

Thank you for your continued efforts to highlight this depraved behaviour and the suffering it causes. I often wonder how these sadists treat humans, their twisted values must leak into their everyday lives.

They kill people for entertainment in some parts of the world You've only to look at Hitler in WW2. Ukraine in modern times.. It should be government who stops the hunting for fun, but your can bet there are MPs who are amongst the hunters.

Expand full comment

True but did you know that, I did see a fraction of a "horrible histories" episode and they said Hitler actually banned hunting with dogs and boiling lobsters?

Expand full comment

I also find it interesting how does society call itself compassionate while these violent and brutal crimes are organised for entertainment. Doesn't seem to make sense. Do upper class people enjoy causing suffering? And if so, are the rest of us doing something wrong? How does one glean enjoyment from the observation of suffering that one causes? Is that what evil is?

The screams of an injured or distressed hare resembles that of a human infant. We are told that a caught hare is despatched by a picker-up within three seconds, but this is by no means always the case. In a well-documented and much sneered at instance in 1975, a hare was screaming in the jaws of a hound for over two minutes before having it’s neck broken by a picker-up. (The event was filmed but labelled as rigged by bloodsports supporters who were shown the extract as part of the evidence against coursing in the House of Lords enquiry).

Similar to fox? How can a so-called human carry out such evil, that sound alone should deter! So sick!

Expand full comment

Yes - it's beyond backward. Animals hunt each other by nature but we don't need to hunt them for any reason at all. It's a vile crime against nature and it's residents.

Expand full comment

In reference to the fox, I meant the scream when hounds attack it, although it doesn't always happen. 'Humans are the only animals with the ability to blush for they are the only ones that need to!' I had this quote on my wall as a student in the 70s, but it sadly remains so true!

I know what you meant - I just got carried away condemning it all because it makes me so mad! Pigs too make noises like humans, they say, in slaughterhouses.

Horrible, just so horrible, all of it.

It’s still surprise me that some people think this is okay. No wonder Mother Nature tries to kill us every 100 years.

We.Are.Parasites. This literally sickens me, because I love animals more than people and this why. ( In my darker side of my mind I wish that all those people suffer all the same ways that they killed those poor animals,

Each.And.Every.Single.One. Of those animals. )

It breaks my heart to read about this cruel sport. The hunting of mammals bill must be brought into law, then people who organise and attend this should be arrested/charged and put in prison.

Expand full comment

But we can only enforce laws in our own country, We have no control over what laws exist and are enforced in countries throughout the world. Even on my own land, people can trespass and carry out these vile activities.

Expand full comment

There is no species that is safe from the sadistic scumbags who think seeing an animal ripped apart is sport !! SPORT is wen your willing to compete , animals don’t have a choice and it’s wrong very wrong !

Expand full comment

We both know that no matter what, some people will still manage to use suffering to earn money even if there is a ban on it. And it isn’t because it’s effective. To them, i t ‘ s f u n .

It needs to be filmed and put on television, then there would be an outcry.
