These upper class hooray Henrys have been raised with a sense of entitlement, they believe they are above the law. Its long time the police get of their butts and enforce the law as they are paid to do by us tax payers. I am sure the hooray Henrys pay little or no tax with their wealthy avoidance schemes.

But they are not all upper class.. See the terrier men and the attackers of women and men SABS, they certainly do not look or sound like educated people, mostly rent a yob by the Hunts. Despicable people. Wish we could hunt them! They are even uncaring of the poor hounds who are starving or in some cases their horses who do not ever look happy.

The terrier men havent got a brain cell between them or a set of balls and the horses look unhappy having to put up with fat bone idle layabouts riding them shouting oh yar i say all day it would do my head in as well

This was in 2014. Lamerton Hunt. They couldnt be prosecuted because of a technicality ? Even though the League against cruel sports had filmed it. Maybe because MP Geoffrey Cox hosted the hunt meet at his home . He's a bell end.

There is one creature that I would LOVE to see on the severely endangered - or even better - extinct list and that is hunters of every description.

That was a really nice act of kindness for the land owner to allow the public to walk and enjoy the countryside. Then these ass holes rock up and ruin it for everyone. Hopefully the people who this has affected will be more eyes watching their every move. 🦊 And keep the wildlife safe.

Completely agree. Once again, the bad and evil People ruin/spoil it for the good and kind people.

This excellent piece makes one positive point relating to the ever more aggressive manner of the hunters towards the brave sabs that go out to witness their crimes. It points up how frustration and anger towards the hunts is growing amongst landowners in the countryside as a result of bad experiences at the hands of hunts and - as with the sabs - the aggressive manner of the hunters. (The landowners get it from the Masters and riders whilst the sabs get it from the terriermen and other peasants but it’s the same threatening arrogance in both cases).

Attitudes are clearly changing in the countryside. And hardening. The divide between the two sides is getting wider. Let us hope we can exploit that to our advantage.

Time for a call to Channel 4 News perhaps? They seem prepared to run this kind of story.

👏Totally agree. The only way this barbaric, aggressive, illegal activity is going to stop is with more exposure and publicity. All the high quality video evidence that Protect The Wild and the brave sabs are collating will help massively.

Good idea, I had a very nice email back to my comment to them about their coverage of the Blackmore vale hunt killing ax fox. I asked that they keep up to date with the proceedings and continue to follow this particular story. It’s very easy to message them. I always get the best results by being polite and positive. That hunt needs to be kept in the papers. It would be great if a paper could do a story “a day in the life of a hunt monitor”

OMG, they are so arrogant and entitled! When are they going to be properly stopped?!

Sad to read yet again the cruelty and damage caused by the hunt, especially that sanctuary! Gladdened to read the landowner's very well expressed announcement of closure of the permissive path. They have highlighted the effect the belligerent behaviour of the hunt has on the wider population therefore no doubt increasing anti - hunt support!

Yes Rosemary its about time other land owners put the boot in on them no respect for anybodys property

I get a sense from looking at hunts local to me in Somerset and more generally across the country, that they are steadily losing “country” to hunt. This is very much down to work and campaigning by groups such LACS, HSA and of course PTW and others. Many farmers dislike the hunt, both for what they do and their arrogance when trespassing and the damage they cause. Neither do they, and larger landowners such as NT, Forestry Commission and Resources Wales want to be associated with activity that is both criminal and immoral. It’s so important to keep publishing articles like this one. Keep up the great work PTW! Thank you

In the 70's 80's, the largest local land estate agent who dealt with farm land insisted on a legal document being signed to permit hunting on any agricultural land by any potential tenant farmer, or they were turned down! Not certain but I don't think it happens today for newbies, but once established as a farmer not many leave so the agreement remains valid!

Shameful doesn’t even begin to cover the damage and trauma caused by these hunters. But I wonder how much notice they will take of the paths being closed.

As we all have seen, they do seem to think that they are above the law. So the police surely should come down on them with full force and start doing their jobs!

Too many times now, hunts made up of large groups of people and out-of-control dogs are blatantly marauding around the country, causing damage and terror, breaking the law, and getting away with it. There is nowhere else in society citizens would be permitted to get away with this behaviour. It stinks of corruption. It’s extremely worrying that the police are not doing their job and stopping this illegal activity.

If it is them we need to start a boycott protest because most of their customers would be appalled i’m sure

Found this via google! The 300-year-old hunt had applied to register their name for a wide range of goods, including guns, equestrian equipment and clothing. But trademarks judge Michael Reynolds backed manufacturer Middlesbrough-based Marlow Foods Ltd’s claim that, registering the Quorn hunt trademark would tarnish their Quorn brand, for which the core market is vegetarians.

“Strictly, there is no evidence before me to indicate the prevailing attitude (if there is one) of vegetarians to hunting and related field sports,” said Mr Reynolds. “But, whatever the primary motive for choosing a vegetarian diet, there are, in my view, likely to be significant numbers of vegetarians who will disapprove of hunting.”

But he allowed the Quorn hunt’s application in respect of stationery, pens and pencils, cards, photographs, pictures, coasters, posters and manuals — on which he said no objection could be upheld.

Hi Beth, i to am vegatarian so had a look into the Quorn hunt. Apparently a fox hunter named Hugo Meynall home town was Quorton? Later shortened to Quorn from which they got their name. So i hope this is accurate. And you can enjoy your Quorn.
