Keep up the great work TABS. As someone who ran a sab group in the 80’s I know how challenging it can be, but the majority of people are with you all the way.

And PTW , as subscribes and funds grow might you consider granting suitable vehicles for sab groups? That would make an incredible difference in the field. Perhaps retain ownership of a vehicle but “loan” it out for a period of time ?

Hi Dave. Thanks for the question. Providing vehicles is something we have thought about, yes. It's a really attractive idea but not something we can do until we're at a point where buyng a vehicle wouldn't empty the 'pot' so that no one else got what they needed. At the moment we spend what comes in - we're very careful about it of course - but as we develop the Equipment Fund more groups are coming to us. We absolutely welcome that of course, the more the merrier, but it does mean that putting several month's worth of funding into one item would leave us unable to 'spread the love' equally amongst all groups as we want to be able to do, The key of course is growing the number of subscribers, and as we write reports like this and groups are giving us more information to post, that is happening (the 'virtuous circle' where we all help each other does work). So could we eventually have a 'loan' vehicle (or vehicles)? We'd have to look very carefully at liabilities, insurance, moving vehicles around the country etc, but in an ideal scenario it is something we would like to do - especially if groups themselves told us that is something they would benefit from. Thanks

Perhaps we could help a little by contacting sab groups to offer vehicles we are parting with, even if only for parts? I believe quite a few sabs developed mechanical skills to keep their vehicles going! This may not provide a 'new' vehicle, but might help to keep some going!

I love the concept Rosemary, but to be honest the thought of contracting garages / engineers and coordinating the movement of used car parts around the country is a lttle daunting. We are working on enhancing the Equipment Fund and will be announcing that pretty soon - the possibilities in terms of setting up WhatsApp groups and offering used equipment/spare parts is something we would be be very interested in - but whether groups (who are often undertsandably very private and always wary of being 'infiltrated') would want to join in or risk being a part of only time will tell. Nothing's off the table though, we just need to get everything lined up first and see what groups actually want us to do.

You are thinking on a bigger scale than me Charlie. I was just planting the seed of an idea to supporters who could possibly contact their own local sab group via text or emails given on their facebook and do it all locally. I didn't mean to add a logistics headache for you.

Really worthy group need all the support they can get! How to recruit? Not easy to make a public appeal! Other groups may be able to advise? Are they on Facebook? Belong to the Sabs Association? I wish them loads of luck, doing a really tough job!

On another note, I believe court cases start this week?

I , as a 84 year old disabled man has sent £300 .00 to the "CAUSE" of our "WILDLIFE", I am only saying this to "ENCOURAGE" others to send what they can "AFFORD", not for any recognition, we must do all we can to help our "BRAVE" (THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE) "SABS/MONITORS" etc, to do all they can for our most "BRILLIANT" "AMAZING" "WILDLIFE", "GOOD LUCK TO ALL OUR WILD ANIMAL LOVERS EVERYWHERE"

I am so thankful for all the SABs out there for all that they do. I wish I had the guts and stomach to do what you do. You are all special. Looking at the pics I am still in disbelief of the amount of grown men that chase little animals to their death on horses and vehicles. It is just ridiculous, I can't get my head around it. Keep up that fantastic work that you PTW.

I am and feel the exact same way Deborah Brand. Bless you! My family and I have foxes living near us (the foxes used to follow my father and our dog when they went out for walks because they thought our dog was a fox and some were even serenading her! Our dog and my father sadly had to stop as both of them were struggling with older age) but sadly no badgers. Praise the sabs! Please stay safe!

These people are heroes. They are willing to struggle against the privileged, to expose the cruelty that goes on, sometimes in danger themselves.
