Excellent piece that highlights the rapacious, entitled cruelty of the wildlife-haters. Reading it I found the cruel tone and manner of their practices strikingly resonant with those of the Israeli Defence Force in Gaza. (Apart from the bombing). I don’t believe this is a coincidence.

At some level the loves of one’s life - of wildlife and of human life - coalesce into one and considerate attitudes and action flow from this.

The same, alas, can be said for one’s hates.

It’s all connected.

Utterley disgusting ... how can these people claim to help sick animals if they support hunting. Surely it's a breach of oath. Do vets not have a "Hippocratic oath" equivalent?

Well Sam those particular vets treat horses and sometimes hunting dogs for two reasons. One, money. Two in order to 'keep in' with their friends, the sick people who enjoy killing and maiming wildlife. Many are probably Freemasons who have to do so to keep in with other masons.

Whilst being involved with wildlife rescue, I had the most brilliant vet who tried some amazing ops and treatment for wildlife. He was not involved with hunting at all and in fact remained a small animal vet until retirement I have horses and live in the country where equine vets have their specific expertise and areas. Choice is limited, costs are very high! Specialising in equine work, these vets cannot avoid the hunting fraternity, any more than farriers do. One of my horses has had his life saved 3 times by a vet whose wife is secretary for a hunt. What do I do, not call him? As fortunes change, this particular vet has moved on and I am now with a different veterinary 'group'. The vet that comes to me now has a different favourite sport, - cycling! Of course I utterly condemn all those as mentioned in the report, 100%, but I would call any vet to save my animals and any animal crossing my path in need of help. I do challenge vets on their diagnosis some times, as I am pretty experienced, and I would not hesitate to refuse advice and go elsewhere (and I have done) if I disagreed with a vet. It's a difficult situation to have such dependency, vets are not gods, they all have their bias which as the article proves can be mistaken and excused as 'expertise'.

You make a very good point Rosemary and admittedly with horses, you unfortunately don't have as much choice of vets like with cats or dogs due to the specialist nature (same thing with rabbits. Sadly, not many small practice vets are "rabbit savvy", so I do understand your situation well here). It can also depend how many different vets are in your area too as some areas have more vets than others.

Thank you Cara. In my opinion, the root of all evil is not just money but also speciesism!

That's where the problem lies!

You are most welcome and I completely wholeheartedly agree with you Rosemary ❤️. I can just never understand why so many "people" seem to be so completely oblivious to speciesism (apart from everyone on here of course)?

THERE ARE VERY GOOD VETS OUT THERE, OUR VETS HAVE TAKEN IN INJURED BIRDS WHICH WE HAVE FOUND. BUT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, THERE ARE THOSE WHO LIVE IN PRO HUNTING AREAS AND SUPPORT THESE HUNTS. ALSO MONEY COMES INTO PLAY AS VET TREATMENTS ARE PRIVATE HEALTH CARE MONOPLY, SO YOU DO NOT HAVE REGULAR PRICES ACCROSS THE COUNTRY.

I am absolutely utterly disgusted, appalled and just so very angry that so called ‘vets’ can do such abhorrent things to a defenceless animal. What gives them the right to do this, are they not supposed to heal and protect, if you do this to a human you will be arrested, but animals are different WHY, they have a life to live, they have offspring to rear, lives to forage and mate, what a sad world we live in if we find that killing defenceless animals is what keeps these mindless thugs happy.

I completely agree with you Stephanie!!

This quote from Allen is alarming, and paints him as a sociopathic, nasty, cruel, arrogant arsehole with zero empathy. “Man if he is able and he is through hunting, has an obligation to cull the weak, the sick, the injured and the starving.”

With those beliefs, he should not have been working with animals. All those heartless experiments makes me feel sick. I wouldn’t have allowed my pets anywhere near him. His death means he can no longer throw such vile rhetoric around, but unfortunately it seems his legacy still lives on in this disgusting little hunting club.

I completely agree Helen!! "His", quite frankly, evil views are a classic example of self centered and so called "human superiority", better known as speciesism, the wrongful and unjustified belief that 1 species is more "superior" than and always has a 'right' over another species'. As Rosemary correctly said, Speciesism, alongside the love of money, is the root of all evil.

I see in our local press who were reporting on a car accident that the previous Prime Minister David Cameron, who was first on the scene to give assistance, was actually staying for the weekend on a shooting party. Another MP who likes killing innocent creatures! How did he vote on hunting etc. when he was head of the Government? Another hypocrite?

Wildlife can get disturbed in the country side!!!!! Disturbed??? I think you mean terrorised, tortured and killed Polly….

That dreadful woman did nothing but deflect the facts and alter the narrative to suit her agenda.

As Rob said she did not have any response to any of his points…only picking up on the point that some one Rob mentioned was no longer with the CA…which was as she said herself irrelevant…so why mention it then Polly…was it because you couldn’t respond to anything else!!!

Absolutely useless woman…if she’s the best they’ve got to represent the CA along with that Bonner thing…then that’s good news for everyone who cares about wildlife and wants to see an end to this blatant cruelty.

Well done Rob…so much respect for you

Vets should be for saving all animals ! I doubt very much if they get much revenue from hunting dogs. Soda, razor blade and a bullet is their the first aid box.

Firstly I would like to know how we decent animal lovers can find out about our own Veterinary practice members, in order to see if they support these monsters.

Secondly, in conjunction with my views on the "hunting" of wild animals on African safaris and other similar locations, the polite and ordered manner of protest, namely petitions is admirable but ineffective.

I firmly believe that in order to fight the miserable and sick people who hunt and kill for fun, should be treated equally brutally.

The fox, or stag hunter, justifiably thinks he or she is protected by corrupt and like minded police and courts. Plenty of evidence proves this point as newspapers report.

If these thugs and savages always have it in the back of their minds that they took could be attacked and badly beaten without notice, they might just decide not to venture out to exercise pain and misery on wildlife that is going about it's business simply surviving.

There are plenty of us who would be happy to band together in secrecy to form groups to police the countryside in order to control these vile and wantonly cruel individuals.

Very good point Ray. For your first question, the only ways I can suggest is either 1. Checking for the veterinary practice/persons of interest on Protect the Wild's "blood business" website here: https://bloodbusiness.info/database/

2. If you do use social media, to see if they have posted anything concrete or deeply suspicious that relates them to the hunts,

And/or 3. You could try casually asking them (the veterinary practice members) yourself. Hope that helps in some way.

Many veterinary practices have their own websites now and give profiles of all staff. That's how I found out about the new group I am with.

Thanks Rosemary, my practice does list everyone including reception staff, but doesn't go into details of their hobbies and outside interests. I guess most of the involved sickos work in rural areas or towns like mine in Northamptonshire.

DID YOU SEE THE ARTICLE IN DAILY MAIL THIS WEEK ABOUT PEOPLE FROM THE TRAVELLING COMUNITY WHO DESCENDED ONTO A PLACE IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE, AND RUN AMOK OVER FIELDS WITH 4X4'S AND CARRIED OUT HARE COURSEING. WHILE LOCALS LIVED IN FEAR OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF THEY STOOD UP TO THEM. WHILE THE POLICE CHIEF SAID IT WAS A MISTAKE BY NOT HAVING MORE OFFICERS AND PATROLS ON DUTY.
