With King Charles being the new nominal head of the RSPCA, they are going to be reluctant to criticise the antics of those privileged few who get their pleasure from killing. It is easier to target the underprivileged and ignorant.
People who hunt for fun are a bad example to children and bad role models. Class doesn't allow someone to behave as badly as they want, they should behave better, especially when they have privileges like better education, better housing, better diet, better lifestyle and more influence. There's no excuse for cruelty to animals. It's just punching down and a lack of tolerance, bully behaviour.
Whilst I 100% agree with the article, I do feel we must be careful of suggesting that cruelty is confined to 'class'. Bloodsports, yes probably (although does that include terrier men, gamekeepers, beaters etc?) but cruelty seems to me to be classless, it's everywhere that ignorance exists! I briefly read this recently in a news piece but I just couldn't read it all as all of this is so heartbreakingly evil, cruel and unnecessary and I do get upset very easily whenever I hear, never mind see, barbarities like that!!! I don't personally agree with social media at all because, besides from it being used to just attack and aggravate others, I have also heard of so much unspeakable animal cruelty that happens on there, including those barbarically sick "monkey torture videos" 😿💔😾😡🤬🤬!!! I just don't understand how anyone could be so barbarically cruel, sick and evil to do any of these sort of horrors (too sick, cruel and evil to say)!!! I Don't Care how old or young, how "privileged" or from what "class" the sick monsters who do this to animals are/come from, what I would do to ANY of them if I saw them try to hurt an animal doesn't bare speaking about 🤬🤬🤬!!! Whether a bird, dog, cat, rat, mouse, rabbit, horse, fox, deer, mink, pig, cow, fish, bat, hedgehog, monkey etc, ALL ANIMALS deserve kindness, respect, empathy and compassion!!!!

I have little liking for the RSPCA because of their hypocrisy having king Charles as their Patron - please note king is in lower case as I have NO respect for him. The double standards of the royal family is breathtaking, the government is stopping the winter fuel allowance for pensioners but the royal family pay almost no tax, exploit every possible loophole and business opportunity they can for their own benefit and yet Charles and Camilla are happy to have their cronies join them in killing and maiming hundreds of thousands of birds and wild animals every year and a lot of it is at our expense because they demand personal security tying up countless amounts of valuable police officers, something else which is at our expense. What I have said here is just the tip of the iceberg; in my opinion they are despicable along with their sycophantic followers.

Kids can be vile and cruel. Only a few weeks ago it was on radio cornwall how boys had thrown rocks at a goose, it was taken to the vet but sadly didn't survive. I was unfortunate to have got hold of some local thugs that had put nails into a slow worm, i ripped into them. Dear Mummy came knocking on my door and nonchalantly told me "boys will be boys". I cannot write what i replied, but i will leave it to your imagination. !!! Horrible little sods.
Good for you! I did similar for a slowworm when boys spray painted one all over! Boys will be boys?? Dreadful parenting! Thankfully my son, a boy into manhood, was brought up with and taught to respect all life forms!

I could only partially read the article. My blood ran cold and I felt so angry. There needs to be tougher laws and proper punishments for anyone who hurts animals. Put them in jail cells with animal lovers and see how brave they are then, the sick, depraved, deranged bullies.
