The whole reason I won’t watch anything with the vile vinnie jones in the cast. He’s just an arrogant thug. A pointless sub human. The world would be such a nice place without him and those like him.

I haven't heard of him before this (as I don't watch or have netflix and I am not interested in things like football etc) but all I can say, without swearing, is that I wish someone would get a gun and go and shoot him!!! The only thing I can say in response to all those people, charities and the media who blindly "adore him" is, what my grandfather, mother and myself always say: "They are all brainwashed"! It is the exact same with those who "adore" the so called "royal family" (all of them), Chris Packham, Martin Clunes, etc for apparently "loving and caring about animals" whilst their actions and words show anything but!! There are sadly so many, many more "celebrities" like that too!!

Definitely not Chris Packham Cara. You must be confusing with someone else. He’s incredible. Top man.

Maybe Jeremy Clarkson?

Deffo Clarkson, love him to experience the physical and mental anguish he and his kind put animals through

I have utter contempt for such a vile excuse of a human. He puts our race to shame, sadly like too many others Tony

Jeremy Clarkson is another one, yes definitely! But I am afraid I am not confusing Chris Packham with anyone else Paul. He advocates for and actively encourages "culling" deer and shooting elephants and pet cats. Chris Packham's own words: "We have to play a proactive role and that means killing things. People come to shoot near where I live and they ask me where the deer are and I tell them 'the deer are over there, go and blast!'" He clearly has never heard of or watched the film "Bambi". As far as I am aware, he hasn't had a change of heart since, as I can find no article of him sincerely apologising and passionately denouncing what he said then, therefore making what he said then just as valid now. The link is here: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chris-packham-gets-controversial-again-273482

I'm shocked and sickened to read this . I too believed that he was one of the good ones . What has Martin Clunes been up to ?

Bless you Margaret T Connor! Martin Clunes supports hunting, in particular, his local hunt: https://m.facebook.com/stop.the.cull/photos/a.258053550967020/687421824696855/?type=3

There is another link below too about how little he cares for farm animals, especially his own, too but please be warned, the words are barbaric and deeply upsetting:

https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/life/features/martin-clunes-i-enjoyed-doing-this-series-but-one-time-i-had-to-grin-and-bear-it/31222819.html

I first learned about and disliked him when I read a book by him when I was younger. He had shot a squirrel and vowed never to do it again but when he got another dog, he started considering going squirrel hunting again! A few days later, my mother found a picture of him on a magazine showing that he supported hunting!

Certainly no ‘shooting pet cats’ there I could see Cara. Keeping them in at night and fitting bells he mentions. An old article I’d like to hear his opinions now. He’s a true wildlife hero for me.

I have five cats and a bird table. I’ve raised the table out of reach of one who is a real hunter. They are carnivores after all. It’s awful to see the destruction they can cause to birds I totally agree with him. Cats have probably saved my life, they give us so much joy but yes they’re true predatory animals.

I’d need to see more regarding elephants .

For elephants, the website literally states at the top: "BBC wildlife presenter Chris Packham has defended the culling of elephants" and in his own words "we have to cull elephants in Africa" (culling meaning, in Chris Packham's own words, 'blasting' with guns or shooting them in other words) here again: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chris-packham-gets-controversial-again-273482

(I do apologize for this article link not working on my first post as I missed the last number which I have corrected now.)

For cats, this is coming from a man who said his views on cats at first made him "reach for my shotgun" in the 2nd paragraph in this link here (although you do have to be very quick as it blocks the article shortly after to ask for payments): https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/cats-no-longer-monsters-in-packhams-eyes-jjc0kcrgrxj

I am in favour of keeping cats in at night, if people can, and agree that yes, sadly cats are predatory animals and do kill wildlife but that is nothing compared to how many animals humans kill each year!! My mother also saw him on the TV publicly admit that "he hates cats"! I am not a fan of snakes personally but I would never "reach for my shotgun" regarding one! Again, like I said before, unless you can find a recent article showing him sincerely apologising and passionately denouncing what he said then, then that makes what he said then just as valid as now! If a murderer killed someone years ago but never since said he was deeply sorry and regretted doing it, does that pardon him then?

A true animal lover would NEVER ever want to shoot a cat, an elephant or a deer! I am surprised you didn't mention his words on deers to me as, in my opinion, that alone is enough to put any kind animal lover off him. Do you not love deer either then and agree with shooting, sorry 'blasting', them then?

Expand full comment

I’ll message him see if he responds. For clarification. These articles are from a number of years ago. I’m confident his words would be different now.

The only things I kill on purpose are fleas and I feel sorry for them!

We are together on here defending animals. Wildlife and domestic.

The Scottish Wildcat has been reintroduced in Clashindarroch and of course they will hunt birds. I believe Chris would support their reintroduction. Wildlife can be gruesome and brutal. We know that. Contentious issues include domestic cats and culling of deer for management when they have been so successful in breeding. I ‘love’ them but pressure on land management, damage to trees. What is the answer? We have created many clashes because we are homo sapien! Hedgehogs taking birds eggs. Should they be culled. These are all issues that can split conservationists. Plenty of other dilemmas.

We have our opinions, but strength in numbers as PtW prove. Have a peaceful evening.

Thank you Paul Soane. I know that those articles are from years ago and I sincerely hope he has changed his views since but I have not found anything to the contrary to say otherwise so far. Wildlife can sadly be very cruel but I never agree with humans killing an animal as an answer to overpopulation as I believe there is always another way (with deers, sterilisation, relocation and/or reintroduction of natural predators are workable alternatives to us killing them) and especially people encouraging it. I know we are all here together to help save animals and we all have a right to our own opinions, I just want all the facts to be shown about celebrities so people can decide properly for themselves. I will always support Protect the Wild. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Tony Fry, please read my response, and particularly the links I provided in the response, back to Paul Soane.

Chris Packham is a genuinely great person who passionately cares for and fights for our wildlife, sometimes at great cost to himself. I agree you must have him confused with Jeremy Clarkson, an equally vile man as Vinnie Jones, who supports hunting and killing wildlife. Why do we give these evil people air time?

Expand full comment

Anne, have you looked on the links I provided in the posts I wrote/typed to Paul Soane? I will provide the first one here again for you to thoroughly read: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chris-packham-gets-controversial-again-273482 I am afraid it clearly states "Chris Packham" saying the following in his own words: "We have to play a proactive role and that means killing things. People come to shoot near where I live and they ask me where the deer are and I tell them 'the deer are over there, go and blast!'" This cannot be denied! It is in black and white! I am NOT confusing him with equally as cruel Jeremy Clarkson! Please look for yourself, defending Chris Packham is no different than defending the "royal family" for "loving animals" and the environment, both of which they talk a lot of but their actions show completely otherwise!

Footballer and actor…. Well there’s two lies for a start.

Scum like this gets air time, The One Show gushing praise on ‘the great Vinnie Jones’ . We may not have their money but what we do have are our voices. Expose these two legged vermin for what they are. Turds on two legs. I hope they rot. Anytime they are on radio/tv I ask we complain to the relevant channel. Done it before and whilst they won’t publicise our objections they will be noted.

The euphemism ‘gamekeeper’ otherwise known as wildlife murderer.

I still find it so frustrating these scum are not exposed in the media more

I actually knew he was shooting wildlife years ago but after watching the first episode of his new tv programme about his farm & the way he spoke of wanting to help wildlife and respect it & do his bit Etc, I actually thought he had matured & realised that shooting nature was unnaceptable, so the words " he's an arrogant 2 faced dickhead" now comes to mind & the new series he has I won't be watching any more episodes.. What a tosser saying all these respectful things about nature in the countryside when really he's just a loser..

EDIT

Come to think of the 1st episode of Vinnies new series about his life living in the country, the alarm bells went off for me when he couldn't find a way to have hedgehogs on his estate because he said he's got BADGERS..!!!

I'm like what the hell is a "Gung Ho" guy like him who has shotguns going to be doing with these badgers especially when his shooting friends may see them as vermin that need to be eradicated..

To be honest I thought "poor bloody badgers" as they wouldn't stand a chance against him and his cronies..

I may be making wild assumptions but I do hope these badgers are left alone..

I feel Vinnie is like a "loose cannon" living in the countryside acting very entitled.. I just hope he is considerate to wildlife around him

I am not on social media much at all. Would it be a good idea though, for those who are, to bombard these sites he has and others that talk about him and his 'celebrity' wannabe 'gentlemen friends on their sites too, with truthful evidence of what he really does and expose him and his friends for what they actually do? Personal messages, that get repeated if taken down, show the public are not stupid enough to be fooled by these fairyland style dramas. No doubt it was backed by CA who are doing their best to promote their misconception of 'rural life'! I have not watched the programme but is it just a pre-election cunning ploy or do they show any realism at all?
