Sadly, I had my doubts that the poor badgers would be lucky enough that the sudden news of the general election being called would hopefully halt this temporarily but wanted to remain hopeful only until I read about this last night and in response, all I can say without swearing, is that I sincerely hope that Labour blooming well better keep their promise on this and end it if they get into power and don't u-turn on this like the current government has done! On the plus side, from the look of the current polls, the conservatives look like they are set to lose and labour set to win anyhow. I will be contacting my local labour MP to see what they say about this abhorrently barbaric and completely uneccessary "cull", sham "trial hunting" and the uneccessary and cruel import, sale and use of real fur for both the general public and for the so called king's guard's caps. The 2 biggest things that will decide my vote will be the party's policy on animals (wild, domestic and farm) and their policy on the environment. I do find it very hypocritical how badgers are meant to be rightfully protected from being killed by "people" of the "general public" by law yet, government officials can kill as many as they want, get clean away with it and are actually encouraged to barbarically do so by Deathra (what DEFRA are truly like with wildlife that I have seen others rightfully use)??!! Aren't we meant to live in an "equal" society??

Thank you Sonja Chance! I do completely understand although I thought your comment was very well put too and very true. (Believe me, if my mother could comment on here, she would do the exact same as you but with far more swearing!) You care unlike those in Deathra. I am so sorry to hear that you saw that poor cow in that awful condition. As for poor Geronimo, when I found out about what happened to him, to say I was absolutely livid would be a chronic understatement!!

Well said - I fully and completely agree.

DEFRA is an outdated institution that needs overhauling at the very least, or disbanded at best. It’s the bloody farmers that spread TB to their cattle, by ignoring the “guidelines” when their herd is infected. The tests for TB are outdated and unreliable as witnessed by the shocking treatment of Geronimo the Alpaca, who after all that public outcry and controversy turned out didn’t even have TB but he was killed anyway.

And so are we to loose one of our most iconic mammals because some arsehole in DEFRA hasn’t got a clue. NO!!!

Do t let’s forget the biggest mammals to cause and spread deadly diseases is HUMANS!!!!!!!!!

For fuck sake, leave "OUR" (PEOPLES) badgers alone, you sick "DEFRA" bastards, you have no right to wipe out a species of "NATURES" wildlife, for "WHATEVER" reason, don't hunt a "BADGER" hunt a moronic "DEFRA" person instead, where on earth do you "DEFRA" "ARSEHOLES" come from, you make me fucking sick, no apologies for the swear words, "PISSED OFF HUMAN".

Its about time all these inbeciles that rant on about culling were educated about the real cause of T.B. Poor old farmers out with their begging bowls , get off your ass and look after your cattle properly.

The killing of wildlife whether intentional or not, for business or ‘pleasure’ or for population control or disease control has reached such staggering levels that it has developed a momentum of its own which has made it very difficult to control by DEFRA even if it wanted to. There are just so many people out there with guns and traps who see it as their ‘right’ to be allowed to go and kill animals who are ‘de-animalised’ rather like the way the Israelis have dehumanised the Palestinians. With the same outcome.

As with the US ‘men with guns’ (plus some women) need to be controlled as it’s adding to the growing divisions within our society in the UK. And putting yet more power in the hands of the kind of people who see social and political transactions solely through the prism of imposition.

Now if George Galloway were to become Prime Minister ....

I'm just thinking of the outcry there would be if. say Namibia started annihilating their lions or elephants .. the World Wildlife Fund would have something to say. Has the WWF made any comment about this? We need some sort of world awareness perhaps?
