I think it certainly is the case that there has been police bias in favour of the hunts, in the past but with the rise of public awareness and the light being shone on the nefarious and illegal activities of hunts across Somerset,;I do genuinely believe things are beginning to change for the better. Of course what's needed is a change of government so that legislation can be brought in to close these ridiculous loopholes and exemptions which allow hunting to continue. In the meantime, keep sabbing, monitoring, protesting and writing to the PCC and your local councillors and MP's. We will win this struggle.

Excellent article by the Secret Monitor. As a general election is just around the corner, would it not be prudent to be talking to the opposition now of our concerns, with the hope they will introduce a new Hunting Act with no loop holes and be ready to take on the police to root out their corruption and bias?
It’s so frustrating that the police ignore the scum who are hunting and instead focus on the good people who are doing their best to stop this barbarity. I hope and pray something gives to turn the police around and do what’s right and stop these evil scumbag hunters, don’t know how they sleep at night.
Totally agree Marjorie! I think it is we, by increasing our numbers and giving louder support will eventually overwhelm and 'turn' the justice system! They can't go on ignoring the will of the majority of people if we loudly keep up the pressure at every opportunity available to us!

Just a thought as monitors collect evidence at the time of any incident is it difficult to bring about private prosecutions at all. When for instance a monitor is hospitalised through an act of violence are hospitals duty bound to bring the police into the matter?
