These are sick and depraved people. They are a danger to all sentient beings and they walk among us. The link between animal and human abuse has been well researched. However, it is obvious (without research) that those who carry out these atrocities will not be demonstrating care and compassion for humans. A sickening read, this information needs to be placed in the mainstream media if we are to stop it. Also appalling is the fact that the NT, who could do so much to help stop this cruelty fail to take action against trespass, which would greatly help the cause.

I had to press "like", but I hated this article for informing me of these atrocities. I am so angry at those blood thirsty, demented humans. And heartbroken for those tortured stags. I want so much for these scum of the earth people to come to a very slow and painful end themselves. I have read so many articles like this and have repeatedly said " I can't believe people can be so cruel". But they are, and it's like they have a competition between themselves who can be the most demented. Please end this soon - but how can we do it? My brain is going a mile a minute, of some very unhealthy (but satisfying) thoughts.

Hi Fiona. Yep, I feel the same way. How do we end it? In no particular order we need:

A Proper Ban on Hunting (the Hunting Act was okay but too many exemptions)

Proper determined enforcement by the police, the judiciary, the National Trust, the AONB authority

Local landowners to feel supported enough to stand up to these thugs - they don;t wnat them but they're too scared to do anthing (see point above)

More monitoring and more sabbing

Local and national media coverage

A change of government

More exposure of the rot that lies deep inside these hunts.

We'll keep doing everything we can, but we need the people with real power to stop this to step up too.

I wish I wish I wish that is was legal to hunt the hunters. I would get so much joy watching the scum run for their worthless lives, especially the rich arrogant ones, falling over their feet and finally being slain and left to rot. Sorry, just having a moment of anger at the utter barbarity of these sub humans who enjoy suffering.

I would definitely be up for hunter hunting,

Many thanks for your excellent and in-depth reporting of these devious and nasty cretins that pursue such diabolical acts. Name and shame them, name and shame the judiciary who side with them, name and shame the lackadaisical Police who fail to prosecute them. Make life difficult for them all.

I have witnessed a mature stag so exhausted his backend kept collapsing. It was in 2005 and on National Trust land at the time, yards away from the sanctuary of League Against Cruel Sports . I think it was called Hemingway, not far from Porlock.

He made it but hounds don’t respect boundaries, neither do their masters. The hounds were on him in a second. A colleague and I were filming from a vehicle but had to stop as we were surrounded by Hunt supporters with guns. They weren’t pointing at us but were cocked and ready to shoot something and we didn’t want it to be us. So the stag got it, only after the hounds had overcome him.

Children were present to witness everything. I call that cruelty to children too.

Marjorie.
