All well and good to introduce bans and laws to appease voters but unless the Police are directed by the Home Office (or similar) to police the laws diligently, they will be ignored as per the Hunting of Wild Mammals. Apparently, Tony Blair not only constructed the loopholes but in addition instructed the Home Office not to seriously police it! I will no longer listen to any potential MP from ANY party promising animal welfare unless they can at the same time demonstrate how it will be rigorously enforced! I would then vote for them, but watch the follow up actions with an eagle eye!
This is heartbreaking and takes me back to the 70's when i would go along hedge rows ripping them out. I found rabbits and even a cat that i could not save and had to be put to sleep. I did that too! I took walks deliberately looking for snares, took some pliers with me, cut the snares into pieces and left them to be found by the perpetrator!

After seeing Jones in a photograph smiling at the hoard of dead foxes, they'd bagged, shot. I was further disgusted to read he would be Copresentinga a series about the countryside. His love of the countrysideis a shotgun, snares, cock fighting, badger baiting a shovel & a terrier. He beat up his neighbour because he didn't like the way he looked at him, broke into the house & beat the man up in his bed.

Such sad pictures, the pain and stress these poor animals endured is horrific, we live in such an evil society now that no lives matter and these poor animals that are snared dying a slow and painful death makes me so mad, anyone using or setting these medevil traps need fining as well as educating that these snares are despicable as are the scum that set them

Before snares can be truly confined to the past, society needs to re-educate the ignorant that still use them for the shooting industry. The work done to educate tribes in Africa to appreciate the wildlife around them as a means of enjoyment that will attract more tourism is one idea. Another, is to ensure that children learn to preserve nature and parents who teach their children to destroy nature should be prosecuted.

The focus should perhaps be on children to ensure they get better role models & dont grow up to behave like half wits and they naturally die out! On the other hand, in some circumstances adult hunters have been known to stop killing and work instead in conservation.

Although it is good and highly commendable that Wales have finally "banned" snares in writing, creating/making a law but not enforcing it strongly is just as useless as there not being any law to "ban" snares in the first place! Organising a proper Search through all the forests possible and houses of suspects, jailing and giving out very heavy fines to those scum found guilty of using snares and destroying all the snares found/known would be some good first steps to finally and properly enforce a true "ban" on snares.

There are many laws in this country that people ignore, because they can, they are very rarely caught.
