Good initiative, although if we reintroduced wolves and/or lynx, they would control deer populations for free.

I am very glad to read this! Good on Willow Worlds 👍👏✊❤️💖💖!! Interestingly, I came across these 3 articles not long ago too: 1. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/feb/17/wolves-reintroduction-to-highlands-could-help-native-woodlands-to-recover-says-study (possibly from the same study you kindly provided the link to PTW)

2. https://treesforlife.org.uk/about-us/lynx-to-scotland/

And 3. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/aug/27/put-pest-animal-species-on-the-pill-dont-cull-them-says-scientist

Another example of viable birth control: https://www.four-paws.org.uk/campaigns-topics/topics/help-for-horses/help-for-wild-horses

4 links I will show again that show why "culling" never works: 1. https://www.alleycat.org/resources/the-truth-about-the-vacuum-effect/

2. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2000/11/001122183103.htm

3. https://www.huntsabs.org.uk/frequently-asked-questions/

4. https://vegfaqs.com/how-do-vegans-feel-about-hunting-for-meat/

Chris Packham should read this article, especially where Duncan Zuill says "As far as the trees are concerned, it's no good shooting the deer. We'd never shoot enough of them to make a difference."!!!

Thank you for mentioning this to us Protect the Wild and for providing the link to subscribe to them 👍👏✊❤️💖💖!! I have subscribed to them to see where this long overdue humane alternative leads.

Landowners are all too often stick-in-the-muds who refuse to try new things, one of the reasons wildlife is in such trouble. It's lovely to know some forward-thinking people are stepping in with intelligent solutions to replace the old-school brutality, putting wildlife first.
