There is so much animal abuse that can be easily accessed, you tube, tic tok, facebook ect.... the list goes on. Our children are not being taught to respect All animals! What a shame that humans are the worsed monsters on this planet.

Just to update re my comment about the PCC election in Bedfordshire, John Tizard the Labour and Cooperative Party was duly elected. In my correspondence with him prior the election he assured me he was concerned about wildlife crime and would be investigating further. Now I shall wait and see. I will writing to him to congratulate him on his success and remind him of his concern. If any have new PCCs please do write to them regarding their standing on wildlife crime. We do need to continue to press home about this. In my correspondence to John Tizard I included links to Protect the Wild, The Badger Trust and League Against Cruel Sports.

With great sadness, the PCC of Dorset remains the unspeakable Tory!! Labour ran a pathetic campaign and did not bother answering my email, it was as if they did not really want to be noticed; consequently, they came last! My emails also contained all the appropriate links I could find but this is Tory land! They did lose control of the Council to Lib Dems, - just, but that doesn't help anyway!

I am NO fan of Chris Packham as, as far as I am concerned, celebrating/endorsing/promoting him is no different than celebrating/endorsing/promoting the "royal" family for apparently "loving animals" (whilst actively encouraging and enjoying shooting them down in cold blood)!! I do find it very strange, hypocritical and speciest that Chris Packham is against killing badgers but yet actively encourages and promotes killing deers, elephants and cats! In Chris Packham's own words: "We have to play a proactive role and that means killing things. People come to shoot near where I live and they ask me where the deer are and I tell them 'the deer are over there, go and blast!'" Unless there is a more recent article showing that he has apologised for saying this and passionately denounced what he said then, which I don't believe he has, then that makes what he said then still and just as valid now. The link is: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chris-packham-gets-controversial-again-273482

He is a conservationist, NOT an "animal lover"!

What is the difference between badgers and deers, elephants and cats??! Although I love badgers, why are they somehow more deserving of life than deers, elephants and cats are in his eyes??!! Badgers, deers, elephants and cats are all sentient beings, as much deserving of life as each other, who do NOT deserve to be actively encouraged to be 'blasted' with guns!!! I do fully support you Protect the Wild and ending the abhorrently barbaric and completely uneccessary badger "cull" 100% though. I just sincerely hope that labour, if they get into power, keeps their promise and ends this now before it's too late! All hunting, shooting and "culling" (which as far as I am concerned is the same as hunting and shooting as you are killing/murdering an animal when it is completely uneccessary) all needs to end now!!

My thanks David for your suggestion and it may also be worthwhile contacting councillors in our different areas to enquire and /or suggest they become aware of the wildlife present in such areas as grass verges. We used to have grass verges opposite us but they are now mud flats due to the parking of cars on them. Of course I think most councils are honouring the NO MOW MAY scheme that should be operating.

Hello fellow advocates, just a little something different that I hope will lift hearts. We have 7 swift houses along our house and a pair have returned annually since erected, about 7 years ago now. So delighted to see (camera on side of swift house) the safe return of one of the pair, the partner usually arrives a day or so later. We are delighted for its return....the indomitable swifts. If any of you have swifts in your area have you considered erecting a swift house(s)? We belong to the Bedfordshire Swift Group and would be more than happy to advise. Swifts, by the way, make no mess and leave their houses neat and tidy. For the past few years our pair have produced triplets, so here's hoping....

bright blessings, Joan

We do have to be 'women who run with the wolves' and continue to track their footsteps! Or as midgies and nip in and bite when we can! It appears that not replying or responding continues to be the trend, which is quite ignorant isn't it. You know, I would be inclined to forward your correpondence again adding 'as I didn't receive a reply I am resending in case you didn't receive it. I would appreciate a reply from you upon receipt of my message.' It'scertainly worth a try even if to irritate again!
